Nurses General Nursing

I posted this question on Tennessee nurses and I have not gotten any responces yet. My friend flunked out of Lowengerg School of Nursing in Memphis Tennessee. She is wondering if anyone know of any and I mean any school that will accept her? She applied to Union University and was immediately denied. Her heart was torn up. Please help. She is more depressed that I am!!!!!

Excellent suggestion, WindyHill.

A girl flunked out of the program I was in and is getting her RN online with Excelsior College. Maybe your friend could look into thier program to make her dreams a reality. Good Luck!

I attend Lowenberg and I know that if she flunked out, they aren't going to let her back in.

On the other hand, I do believe that Northwest will accept her. I think it's in North MS. I think their grading scale is lower, so her grades may not be failing there.

Just something I heard.

I don't know if Northwest will accept her, but the lowest passing grade for Northwest is a 78.

Has your friend returned to the school and talked to the dean about her possible options. usually they are very helpful. Tell her to put her heart into every option call the different schools talk to the counselors. Then re-evaluate. Sometime god is testing you to see how important this is or he is trying to tell you this isnt the path. Everytime something didnt work or something better took its place. Howver sometimes it doesnt feel like it at that time.

She talked to the dean yesterday and was told there is NO way that she could be re-admitted. She is trying Tennessee Technology's LPN Program. She is scheduled to take a pre-test next month. Thank You all for the feedback. I keep telling her to join allnurses and find out what she wants to know on her own.

Ok, maybe it's Southwest.

Then again, maybe it was that if you flunked at Northwest, you could get into Loewenberg because out passing is lower than their's.

Like if you made a 76 in a course at Northwest, then it could transfer to Loewenberg and count.

I was afraid of that.

Wish her luck.

Can she try the RN program at the technical college? I'm from Memphis, but I haven't lived there in a long time. A lot of my friends went to UT back when they had a BSN program, but I believe that's a masters program now. I don't think the hospitals offer RN programs anymore, but I could be mistaken about that too. Good luck to your friend.

Are you sure she got accepted there? I just looked into that programa and called thema nd they said you had to have some type of medical licensure first, LPN, paramedic, surgical technologist, etc. There was one exception. If I had completed over 50% of my clinicals then I could be accepted but I did not get that far. Maybe your friend did. If for some reason she got accpted anyway please let me know what she did. I would really appreciate that. Thanks.

I am in the same boat. I just flunked out of Baptist College of Health Sciences in the same city and I have searched high and low for an alternative option but to no avail so far. I can't believe that if you flunk two classes that you are completely blackballed from getting in anywhere else. It is very discouraging. I am thinking of getting into an LPN program with the HOPE that if I try an Online LPN to RN/BSN that they might accept the credits from my old school. I have to call some online programs to find out. 3 years of nursing school, a $30,000 debt and I don't even qualify to become a CNA unless I go take a CNA program.
