Is everyone experiencing this? I am new to public health. I cannot believe how many calls we are getting about the flu shot, and how panicked people get if they think they might miss out.

Flu shot frenzy, good way to put it! We have been getting calls since the first of the month. Of course, our vaccine hasn't arrived yet and that is frustrating! I think part of the panic is when there was a shortage a couple of years ago. I am beginnning to dread this time of year!

I usually work flu clinics for extra money and the ads are in the paper now. I also did urine drug screens for extra money.

sorry, I dont have it yet
Is anyone having trouble getting their flu vaccine?
GRRRRR. YES! I was told I could schedule clinics after 10/15, so I have some scheduled for next week. I had to cancel monday's because I wont have enough to get me through even one clinic!
We ordered our vaccine thru a government contract and they promised us that we would get our supply today and it didn't show up!!! :angryfire This is the second time they promised to have it to us on a certain day!
We never schedule a clinic until we have the vaccine in our hot little hands! This is getting to be the pits!!!
This is my first flu season as a public health nurse. I was pressured to set the clinic dates from the clerical staff who were recieving a lot of phone calls. Originally, I wanted to set the clinics for the last week in october, but they thought we would lose business to the doctors.

The panic is from the fact that the flu shot needs to be given in Oct and NOv. as we run out of days, the world fears the missing of the "optimal window period'. We get ours from a pharmacy direct with our LTC. Others are having a problem to get them, I am hearing.
Yeah!!! We got our flu vaccine today!!! :) We are going to have our clinics this Thursday and Friday! I just want to get this done as soon as possible!
