USF ABSN 2017

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi! Anyone applying for USF (University of South Florida) ABSN for 2017? I can't seem to find anyone!

I have an appointment there late April to get my immunizations and titers done also. Did you get everything done (all 5 requirements) and did you have to wait very long to get the results? I'm going to try and hunt down some of my records, but i have a feeling I'm still going to need a few of them.

I went to SHS on 4/4 to get my Tdap booster and titer checks on MMR, HepB, and Varicella. I had chickenpox as a kid and MMR/HepB vaccines done when I was young too. I checked MyChart today and all my titer level results came back positive. So the results came back relatively quickly. The only things left I have to do is the TB skin test and fingerprinting, which I made an appointment for this Monday.

On a side note, they are able to perform a TB titer check as well, but you need to make an appointment earlier than 2pm if you want that done. Also, if you need to do the TB test, the nurse told me last week that they won't do it the same day as HepB or Varicella vaccines because of possible test interference..?

Sorry I just saw this but how did your aparatment search go? I haven't looked at any of the others besides the Social but I'm going again this Saturday.

No problem but it went well. I signed a lease at 4050. I had to sublease for the summer but it's a nice place, pretty close to the college of nursing so I'll be able to walk there! How did your search go yesterday? If you still haven't found anything, I think there will be availability in my apartment for the fall because the other girls will be graduating in the summer if you're interested in living there at all!

I never thanked you for your response!

That's so strange. I would say just do the TB test in the opposite arm, but what do I know? :)

Hello all! I feel like there should have been one distinct outline with all the due dates or maybe I missed it. Obviously we shouldn't leave anything to the last minute, but I would appreciate it if anyone could either agree/disagree with the info below I have been going by:

April 21st - USF Card, USF Health email, HIPAA Certification, USF Immunization, USF/Transfer Orientation if applicable (Unable to register at Orientation if not completed)

April 28th - Background Check and Drug Screening (Seat will be forfeited if not completed)

May 15th - CPR Certification, Castle Branch Immunization

May 19th - Pre-Immersion Program

Let me know what you think. Thanks! Have a great weekend! See you all next Friday! :)

Yeah looks right to me! I can't wait to meet everyone next Friday :)

I'm also excited to meet everyone!

I have to admit I freaked out a bit about the immunizations (Castelbranch) because I thought I read the e-mail wrong and I DEFINITELY won't have those done until late April because that's the earliest SHScould get me in.

I called yesterday to make an appointment. Next available was April 24th. I wonder if they are only appointment based or do they do walk-ins as well?

Hope you can get them done soon! ;)

I'm sure you COULD get lucky with a walk-in, however when I made my appt I was under the impression the person who does immunizations is only there on certain days/times.

I never thanked you for your response!

You're welcome! I'm excited to finally meet everyone this Friday!! :D

Hi everyone :)

Not so much of an important question, but what are y'all wearing tomorrow? 😂

The last email they sent us said: "Professional attire is required, but please wear comfortable shoes. NO Jeans and/or t-Shirts, please!"

I'll be wearing dress pants, nice blouse, and flats. Probably take a little sweater thing in case it's freezing cold inside like other USF buildings I've had class in lol

I am soooo excited to meet everyone as well as finding out where we will have our clinicals! :)

Hello all! Hope everybody was happy with their clinical placement :) I was wondering if anybody has picked up their scrubs/uniform from the USF Health Bookstore yet or if anybody had any news about them. Thanks!
