USF ABSN 2017
I just picked up my scrubs too and the top is huge even though I got the smallest size too! Do you know a good place to get them altered? Are we even allowed to alter them?

Out of curiosity, how many sets of uniforms did you all order? Also, are we expected to basically just wear our scrubs on Tuesday and Thursday?

I actually called the bookstore yesterday and I was told that they were out of some of the smaller sizes and were waiting for the order the come. They weren't able to give me an ETA, just said it would definitely be before first day of class. The person helping me said that she would send me an email once it was ready for pick up. That's about all the news I have =\

I went to SHS on 4/4 to get my Tdap booster and titer checks on MMR, HepB, and Varicella. I had chickenpox as a kid and MMR/HepB vaccines done when I was young too. I checked MyChart today and all my titer level results came back positive. So the results came back relatively quickly. The only things left I have to do is the TB skin test and fingerprinting, which I made an appointment for this Monday. On a side note, they are able to perform a TB titer check as well, but you need to make an appointment earlier than 2pm if you want that done. Also, if you need to do the TB test, the nurse told me last week that they won't do it the same day as HepB or Varicella vaccines because of possible test interference..?

I don't know if you're already in the Tampa area, but I went ahead and made an appointment at USF's Student Health Services and got all my immunizations and titer checks done there. I don't remember what all the prices were, but I think they're pretty cheap and the prices are listed in one of the orientation links. If you need it I can try to find it for you!

Thanks LilyD! I guess we technically still have a week after orientation to take care of that if needed. =]

Mainly the immunizations to be honest. Even though the vaccine requirements were posted on USF's website, I didn't actually think I'd be accepted so I didn't try to get a head start on them heh. For the flu shot, it says "Submit documentation of a flu shot administered during the current flu season (August-March) OR a declination waiver. The renewal date will be set for 10/15 of the following flu season. Do NOT submit to this requirement until you have received the current season's vaccine." Seeing as how it is already April, if I didn't get a flu shot prior does that mean I missed my window and have to decline?

Hey how is everyone's Castlebranch experience going? I just purchased it and almost instantly regretted not having started some of these things sooner....D:

Hey Lily D, hope you were able to resolve your orientation issue. I got an email this morning saying "Your major code has been updated. You will now be able to register for orientation." I was then able to register for orientation without any further issues! Hope everything works out on your end!

Hey is anyone else having difficulty making a reservation online for a transfer orientation? According to the welcome email we received, without attending USF orientation (which is separate from the nursing student orientation) we would not be able to register for any classes. However, when attempting to make a reservation online it says that the April 21 session is closed......=/ and there are no more available slots to choose from. Am I just mistaken or anyone else encounter something similar?

Hello all! First time posting, but I've been lurking around this forum for a bit lol. I'm super excited and nervous that interviews are now all officially done!! I've been checking my email all day as if they would be sending out notices already or something...D: I had my interview on Monday and had an overall positive experience. My interviewers were very friendly, told me to take my time and take a deep breath because they could tell I was very nervous. I personally felt like I rambled a bit and didn't answer all the questions as completely or clearly as I would've liked in hindsight. I wish I felt as confident as some of the posters on here =/ I did ask my interviewer how big this class would be for just the ABSN and she told me they were going to try and increase it to 60 spots. So that's good news for us if it's true! Fingers crossed that we hear back tomorrow!
