USF ABSN 2017

Hello all! Hope everybody was happy with their clinical placement :) I was wondering if anybody has picked up their scrubs/uniform from the USF Health Bookstore yet or if anybody had any news about them. Thanks!

I actually called the bookstore yesterday and I was told that they were out of some of the smaller sizes and were waiting for the order the come. They weren't able to give me an ETA, just said it would definitely be before first day of class. The person helping me said that she would send me an email once it was ready for pick up. That's about all the news I have =\

Out of curiosity, how many sets of uniforms did you all order? Also, are we expected to basically just wear our scrubs on Tuesday and Thursday?

I only ordered one, at least for now. I heard some people ordering two, so I asked the woman and she said that for the first semester, we really only needed one, because we were only going once a week.

I ordered two sets of scrubs and picked them up. My top is really, really big! I think I'm going to need them altered.

Yes, I think we will be wearing scrubs Tues/Thurs. I'm sure they will tell us Monday in classes. I think the only difference at this point is we can wear whatever shoes we want before clinicals start.

Has anyone had any luck in finding good shoes for clinicals?

I just picked up my scrubs too and the top is huge even though I got the smallest size too! Do you know a good place to get them altered? Are we even allowed to alter them?

Hey sorry I never responded, usually I'm used to getting e-mail notifications but I think I turned them off.

I ended up not getting my tops altered, even though they are bigger on me. My concern is that because the tops are so stiff, if I get them altered, I could have a hard time getting them on. I'm going to wait and see how the semester goes. If they end up REALLY getting in my way after a few months, I'll consider it then.

I washed and dried them twice, and it at least helped make the top a LITTLE softer, but not much. Not much you can do to help cheap scrubs :). I'm happy that at least my pants fit. I can deal with a loose top.

As far as being "allowed" to alter them, I imagine it's completely fine as long as you don't change the look of the scrub. For example, I wouldn't have pockets removed, side slits put in, etc. Other than that, can't see why it would be an issue!

Hey guys so I am applying to this program for the spring 2018 year. I was wondering if you guys could estimate how many hours a week you all need to study to be successful and if 10-15 hours of working is reasonable?

Hi, I have read comments from 2017, but wondering if anyone is applying or anyone who is currently in the ABSN at USF ...admission experience so far? Specifically start dates for the program? I know its full time, is anyone working at all? Also is mostly day or are the options for evening?
