I have been looking into all the schools that offer the lpn to rn program and came across a new school in brandon fl, THE CENTER FOR ALLIED HEALTH AND NURSING EDUCATION, they also have a lpn program. I recently got accepted to the May 2010 class this is the first bridge class and the next class start in August 2010. The reputation is pretty good they are based in New Jersey, it is private but at least you don't have to wait forever to get in a program and the reqs are blended in with a few nursing class just thought I would put that out there for anyone that is looking into starting school sooner than later

Where are their clinical locations? Check that out before you commit yourself. If its a new school I'd also be worried about their curriculum, find out what the other school's NCLEX pass rate is and if the new school is going to follow the same curriculum.

The is based in New Jersey, and their past rate is 92% at there schools in New Jersey. The director got sick while she was visiting her granddaughter and she was so impressed with Brandon Hospital that she decided to open up a school down here. The clinicals are all in the brandon area, Brandon Hospital, Hawthrone retirement village and a couple more places. The cost is $20,000 but if you receive pell grants then its only $10,000 but the best thing is not a waiting list. In this time right now when everyone is going to school for nursing and waiting list are getting long its a blessing for me but you can check out the website www.nursingfl.com and it will give you all the information you need let me know if you have any questions and I will let you know how it goes after I start on May 10.

Good for you sincere24!!

I agree, it is really draining to be on waiting lists. but if you just want to be an RN, I say "go for it". I'm sure that you will get your RN license, and little by little the school will have a good reputation!

I trully wish only the best for you!

I know how it is about trying to get into nursing school & back in the day I would of done anything to get into a nursing school. but Keiser was just starting out, and I did not have very many choices.

now there are tons... keiser, city college, nova (I went there one semester!), bc and mdc.

I ended up getting accepted to manatee in bradenton, FL (I don't know what I would of done moving to a new city!), and broward community college (now BC), and of course NSU (which failing was a blessing in disguise).... had a baby in the middle of the program. And now here I am, a working RN.

It's not easy but it's definitely doable. :)

And you now just have to put in your best foot forward, and just study study study! and you will do well !!

The only thing I would think about as well is that the RN credits may not be transferable to a public college if you wish to go for RN-to-BSN. You might get stuck having to go for another private college will cost a lot as well.

I start Aug. 9th at Allied LPN RN Bridge The class right behind you. How is going?Where did you buy your books?

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IT OUT!!! Make sure they are accredited!

I will call the board of Nursing tomorrow. Thanks:nurse:

I am also starting the RN program in August! Would love to chat with others!!:)
