New Nursing School In Tampa FL

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I have been looking into all the schools that offer the lpn to rn program and came across a new school in brandon fl, THE CENTER FOR ALLIED HEALTH AND NURSING EDUCATION, they also have a lpn program. I recently got accepted to the May 2010 class this is the first bridge class and the next class start in August 2010. The reputation is pretty good they are based in New Jersey, it is private but at least you don't have to wait forever to get in a program and the reqs are blended in with a few nursing class just thought I would put that out there for anyone that is looking into starting school sooner than later

Does anyone have any more info re this program? I visited and It seemed like a decent program and they do some clinicals at Brandon Regional Hospital which is good but $18k for LPN is alot to stomach! However, I do realize that it is almost next to impossible to get into the community colleges with less than 3.3-3.4gpa

You also need to consider that there aren't many jobs right now for new grad LPNs and RNs. Why pay the big bucks for either program when you're not guaranteed a job when you graduate.

this message is for sincere24........

im suppose to start the classes at allied nursing .. for the lpn.. and i was woundering if you like the school.. how are the teachers.. and clinicals if you started them already.... i have heared good things:nurse: from there but like all the opinions that i can get... thanks very much

I totally agree that $18K for an LPN program is a lot of money, I would rather pay that for an RN degree.

but there are LPN schools left and right. and if you look at www.myflorida.com under nursing programs, there are TONS of public schools that offer LPN programs, so private schools are not the only option.

I would do a private school for an RN program but for LPN I would stick to public school. and it is possible to get into the LPN programs for anyone willing!!

We will be in the same class.Have you got any of your books yet?

i just got accepted to the class so i havent gotton that far... i gotta do the interview then im ready... what about you???

I am looking at going the end of September to their LPN program.. I went this morning to visit and was very impressed by all the technology etc and that classes were FULL.... but should i go apply at other schools... I am doing a major career change at 50 so don't want to wait 2 years to get in anywhere.... also don't want to do RN program until i've done LPN....

Anyone could let me know how it's going I would appreciate it... also how does it compare to other schools... and should I go check out Galen???

thanks

Think carefully about going into nursing now, especially if you are making a career change and will have to quit your job.

Its very difficult to find a new grad position whether you're an LPN or RN, or even a CNA.

If you're determined to go to school, find out the school's NCLEX pass rate and what clinical sites they use. For nursing schools the NCLEX pass rate is more important than their graduation rate.

I don't have to quit my job nor work more than one day a week at it so that

is not a problem. And I don't mind if I don't get a job

right away either. I just want to do it and they are realllt close

to where I live. Just want some input on whether they

are any good or not???

I have been attending school at The Center for Allied health Care in Brandon since Aug.2010 and cannot say enough about the staff.Very supportive I would highley recommend this school. The instuctors truly care and are very supportive.

I detest the drive to Brandon or I would go. I can't go somewhere either where it depends on your gpa whether you get accepted or not. Or do all work like that?

How Did you like the school?
