Florida Hospital new graduate July 2015

Published

Is anyone here applying to Florida Hospital's new graduate program starting in July 2015?

Is there anybody here who has gone through the new graduate program and could offer information up about it?

Thanks!

How was the interview? What kind of questions did they ask you?

Specializes in Public Health Nurse.

$22.79 BSN pay? Wow, pretty low.

Specializes in Nephrology.

Its low but true. But the tax in FL is not that high unlike in any other state.

LAST question ;P how is the internship broken down? is it M-F or 3 days 12 hrs shift..thank you again for your help! ;)

After you get out of orientation, which is about 2 weeks, you'll shadow for 2 or 3 shifts, depending on where you work they may have you shadow an ARNP, OR, etc., and then you'll begin with your preceptor. Once assigned to your preceptor, you will basically be working whatever their schedule is. So if they're on for 3 days, and off for 4, you'll pretty much be doing that kind of schedule.

Any other questions don't hesitate to ask, I'm currently in the GN Program.

thank you Jay! :)

how long do you stick with your preceptor for?

Did they say that you would be working mostly night shifts after you finish your internship with your preceptor?

It depends on your unit. I'll be with my preceptor for 7-8 weeks after orientation and once hired they tell you what shift you will be working. I will be working nights.

Yes I had a phone interview with icu today.

Hi! I know this post is old, but I'm wondering if you happen to remember what kind of questions you were asked in the ICU interview?? Did they ask a lot of case study/situational questions? Was it easy or hard? I have one coming up for Florida Hospital and any help would be greatly appreciated :) :)

Theres a more recent thread with someone who recently got into the ICU. Look for it. ;)
