Hey guys! So I'm super nervous about applying to FIU because I don't think my GPA is all that great. :/ I didn't do well my first semester there so that brought my GPA doooown. Currently I have a 3.6 overall and a 3.5 science (which is really bad...I finished all of my science classes last semester). Hopefully by the end of this spring semester my overall will be at a 3.7. I do not have volunteer hours but I have been shadowing at a hospital (which I prefer because I had a bad experience volunteering lol). I'm taking the TEAS at the end of this month and I'm studying super hard for it right now >__<. if you guys have any good study tips on how to do well the teas that would be greatly appreciated too for those already in program or graduated from what think my chances are advice is great thank so much>
hey @getlikeamy,
did you call FIU about the scholarship? I just spoke to them and the lady said I would have to pay the deposit by May 1st to keep it, regardless if I get into the nursing program or not. So that sucks..because I won't be attending FIU if I don't get into the nursing program.
I was wondering if you were told the same thing.
Hi everyone. I'm so anxious to hear back already. I got an overall 76% and science 75% on the TEAS, which I feel are terrible and I wish I took it a second time. Both my overall and science GPAs are a 4.0. And I have experience working in a nursing home as a CNA. I can't wait to find out already.
Hey everyone! I'm currently in FIU's program, so I figured that I'll clear some things up for you all. There's at least 15-20 people that got in from the wait list, so not everyone accepts their invitation. I got my acceptance letter via email in late May. Just keep checking your FIU email! Everyone who isn't part of the initial 100 accepted will get an email saying they they have been wait listed. My GPA was a 4.0 at the time I applied, but a lot of my peers are at the 3.6-3.8ish range. I even know some 3.4's, 3.5's. Honestly, you are pretty much guaranteed a spot if your GPA is 3.8+. Good luck everyone, you'll all do great!!

Did anyone else receive a scholarship from FIU but have to pay the enrollment fee of being a student by May 1st to get the scholarship? If I get accepted into the program, I want the scholarship but I won't find out till the end of May!
