FIU Nursing 2015

Published

Hey guys! So I'm super nervous about applying to FIU because I don't think my GPA is all that great. :/ I didn't do well my first semester there so that brought my GPA doooown. Currently I have a 3.6 overall and a 3.5 science (which is really bad...I finished all of my science classes last semester). Hopefully by the end of this spring semester my overall will be at a 3.7. I do not have volunteer hours but I have been shadowing at a hospital (which I prefer because I had a bad experience volunteering lol). I'm taking the TEAS at the end of this month and I'm studying super hard for it right now >__<. if you guys have any good study tips on how to do well the teas that would be greatly appreciated too for those already in program or graduated from what think my chances are advice is great thank so much>

Thank you! I'm sitting tight and hoping I got in! Congrats to all:)

Did anyone get a wait list or denied email?

I called the office again this past Friday and asked for clarification about the decisions because I still hadn't heard back either. According to the person at the desk (not the same person who picked up when I called last time) the only decisions that went out where for those who were conditionally accepted. All other acceptances, denials and wait list emails are to be sent out within the next two to three weeks. Hope this helps!

@srnursing does that mean those that got conditionally accepted get first dibs or are there others that are just accepted outright? i am so confused now lol.

Honestly, I have no idea and I didn't think to ask.

Thank you so much for this information. If I had to guess, this means that everyone who received an email has a deadline of letting FIU know whether they will or will not be attending their nursing program. This means that spaces will open up and more people will receive an email in 2-3 weeks of being conditionally accepted as well. At that time they will probably send out an email for those who are wait-listed as well and denied.

I took nutrition this past semester and they don't have my updated transcript so they may think I didn't have it as a pre-req. anyone else in the same boat? Should I send them it or no?

For the ones that got the email and accepted it: have you received the reply email saying you're in?

I would send it just in case because the e-mail says something about submitting final transcripts. I would call to see where and how to send it. I'm still waiting for the follow up e-mail or correspondence to see what is up.

For the ones who were conditionally accepted- have you sent your final transcripts yet? If so, to both the college of nursing and to FIU?

I sent the email back confirming my acceptance but haven't heard anything after that. Also haven't gotten the letter and info in the mail yet.

Ok good cuz I was freaking out lol. I sent my transcripts to the address on my to do list on my fiu page

I haven't sent my transcripts yet, I'm going to this Friday.

I also haven't heard anything back but hopefully they do that soon.
