FIU Nursing 2015

Hey guys! So I'm super nervous about applying to FIU because I don't think my GPA is all that great. :/ I didn't do well my first semester there so that brought my GPA doooown. Currently I have a 3.6 overall and a 3.5 science (which is really bad...I finished all of my science classes last semester). Hopefully by the end of this spring semester my overall will be at a 3.7. I do not have volunteer hours but I have been shadowing at a hospital (which I prefer because I had a bad experience volunteering lol). I'm taking the TEAS at the end of this month and I'm studying super hard for it right now >__<. if you guys have any good study tips on how to do well the teas that would be greatly appreciated too for those already in program or graduated from what think my chances are advice is great thank so much>

Does anyone know when we are getting our schedules?

Does anyone know if they would extend the deadline from the July 15th to a later deadline, for students that cannot everything into complio before that time.

I emailed them yesterday if I can have an extension for CPR and TB and she said as long as it's updated by august 1st I should be good.

I know some people complained about the cost of getting the Titers done . Labcorp takes insurance and I didn't have to come out of pocket for it . For those you still haven't got them done yet

That's good to hear because applying for health insurance is taking longer than I thought, and I have to retake the HEP B 3 shot series.

Yeah I emailed her today and was told that I can just upload the declination for the HEP B while I start the process of repeating the 3 shots

Hello! Would Elizabeth Olafson be the best contact in regards to emailing them questions about complying with complio. If she is not, can you please provide a good contact? I'm a tad worried I wont meet the July 15th deadline. I did my fingerprint three weeks ago and it still hasn't automatically uploaded to complio. I'm also waiting on my insurance card which might very well come in after the 15th. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

My CPR card probably won't come till after the 15th too. I called American Databank and they told me to file an exception stating that I passed the class and will upload the card later when I receive it. Maybe file an exception explaining the issue with your insurance card, that you have insurance and that you will upload it when received. Also it seems a lot of people are having that problem with the fingerprints so I am guessing they will e-mail like they did with the flu shots.

For anyone who was CPR BLS certified and needs clarification- they aren't mailing our cards, we have to go pick them up at the star center. I was told to wait until August to get the Flu shot- they said you don't even have to upload the declination as we're waiting for it. My complio is pretty much done for weeee:)

Anyone have any recommendations for the nurse shoes and supplies?
