FIU BSN-DNP 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I just wanted to start a thread for those interested in FIU's BSN-DNP route. Deadlines are March (for Fall 2020) and August (for Spring 2021)

For me, I am very interested in their pediatric specialty. I am just beginning to look up information and would love to hear everyones experiences with applications.

Currently I am finishing my BSN (finishes in Aug 2020)... and wondering if I would even be able to apply to any of the upcoming start dates.

Good luck everyone!

Did anyone interview yet? Any prep tips?

If anyone interviews feel free to let us know how it went, and if you got any feedback/response after.

Hi guys! I’ve been looking at this forum for a bit and decided to join the convo! I had my interview, honestly I don’t think it went that well. The questions weren’t bad or out of this world but I get so nervous and sike myself out but I wish you guys all the luck! ?

We always are harder on ourselves when it comes to stuff like this. Sure you did great!

I suppose interviews are all done at this point. Hope everyone did well.

2 weeks until we hear back!

Hope everyone had a successful interview! I believe they told me 10-14 days until we hear something... here’s to hoping it’s sooner

I have interviewed for the BSN to DNP program at FIU, and thus I am waiting for a response.  I have also been accepted to UM's MSN program.  I like both programs, but my main concern is that it takes at FIU longer to be able to take the NP board test.  This makes a difference as to how I am budgeting my future financials.  Any feedback for those at FIU as to how the program has been working.

Congrats on getting accepted at UM!

You are awarded the MSN after year 2 of the BSN-DNP program at FIU, from my impression you would be able to take the board at that point in time.

You have a big decision to make for sure! When I looked into UM I myself did not like the price of the credit hour - $1200 compared to FIU- $479.

Question for everyone:

Did you send your transcripts directly to FIU in addition to nursingCAS, through MyAccounts.fiu.edu ? Just wondering because when I look through MyFIU it does list it under "to do", and says its to be completed upon admission.

I only submitted my transcripts on nursingcas not directly to FIU. I had asked the coordinator if it was necessary and she told me no. I too have on my “to do” list about transcripts.

Has anyone received any responses? The wait is killing me!
