sorry that happen to you, i just grad in dem & only this is am offically on transcript. but from what i was reading on what you said it look like you took too long to take the nclex 3-4mo and too much studying per day q day. take some time out & on the next try use only 1 good source. because basically you can do the kaplan & other review courses but if you dont have the comprehension all the strategies in the world is only going to go so far. saunders 4th is complete and just do a review of the systems 1-2/day and answer the ques. so u have a more solid foundation in each topic. hope it helps stay strong..u just fell u did not break

I took my exam today - 75 Q's, and I feel HORRIBLE! I took Kaplan and really felt prepared before I went in, but it didn't seem like it helped. I did great on the Kaplan tests, but the NCLEX Q's seemed like a foreign language. I will definately consider Suzanne's plan if I need too. DON'T GIVE UP!

Wow, I have to say that I must've had the same exact test as well. I took the test on Tuesday. 265, no math, one SATA, a whole bunch of teaching, prioritization, meds. I got the last question wrong and I know that it was a below the line knowledge question too. Sucks. I keep hoping that I'm some sort of exception to the rule. I have resolved the fact that I failed after reading all these forums regarding the dreaded 265. I didn't want to go round two with this beast.

i would recommend saunders 4th edition. its more then enough and should give you a pretty solid foundation in terms of content/theory. don't memorize everything but understand how things work. nclex will not bother you with small details. trust me on this, i totally agree with the above post. if you don't have comprehension all the strategies in the world is only going to go so far.

Thanks to all the words of support, tips and advice. I read them all the time to help keep me focused and motivated. I'm in the process of doing Suzanne's First Tip and I must say that it is time consuming. I have a study limit of only 2-3 hours a day to help my brain process, understand and most importantly, retain. Since it is taking me a while to complete the first step I'm beginning to assume my that my nursing theory content/comprehension was not as strong as I had initially thought. Which may be the reason I failed the first time. It's true, all the test taking strategies in the world will not assist me if I do not a have a good/solid nursing theory foundation. I'm on Chapter 51 and I must say that I'm am understanding the processes a lot better. Thanks again to all, and to those taking the Nclex rn for the first time that are reading this, learn from my mistakes and take these people advice and good luck.

I have failed 3 times, last time was 2/12/09 I had 100 questions. Don't give up we just have to found a way to answer what the NCLEX WORLD wants. We came to far to much money spent to give up. Hang in there. I am looking to do Suzanne plan this time.

THe last time I took the exam, I had 265 questions, and I took Kaplan as well. I dont think that Kaplan was beatinig around the bush, but that the NCLEX is just that hard and tricky. I felt everything your were feeling, like giving up towards the end, and my gut feeling was that i failed without a doubt. I also got my report and everytying was "near" passing. I think that since these are based on high level questions, you need analyze the question. Test taking wont help if you dont know the material. Many of my friends said that the test taking strategies of Kaplan only worked for about 10% of the quesitons. Anyhow, Im trying Suzannes plan.

My biggest recommendation is: Do what you think is good for you. Only you know how to study. Just bc everyone tells you to do certain things doesnt mean it'll work for you, esp if you dont believe in it. Stop wasting yoru money and try Suzannes plan. :)

You'll get it!
