  1. Maintain a sense of humor. It'll keep you sane.
  2. darthgirl, i can attest that the last question myth is incorrect. i went all the way to 265 which i thought the myth truly applied to but i passed. i'm sure you will too.
  3. well, i've been on this site everyday since last Tuesday, Feb 10th, the day i took my nclex. i had 265 questions, 5 hours and 45 minutes, no math, one SATA, tons of teaching, last question i got wrong and i'm pretty sure it was below the line. a classmate who took the test on the same day as me had her name posted on friday of last week. my name did not, i thought i failed. my window of hope was closing. i gave myself until wednesday morning because of the holiday for my name to post. the weekend creeped in tortoise fashion, i watched TWO seasons of WEEDS, did not shower. checked wednesday morning at 4 AM and my name was still not posted. my window was shut, blinds closed and i resolved my failure. well, i got a call today from my classmate congratulating me for passing the nclex. i didn't believe her. i needed to see for myself. sure enough, my name was posted on the website and it was glowing, like a bright green neon sign. I PASSED! i keep going back on the site to make sure it doesn't go away like some sort of evil mistake. i even sent off my retest application with a $75 check yesterday to get the ball rolling and hit barnes and nobles for MORE nclex study guides. and, didn't bother checking the website myself this morning because i didn't want to remind myself that i failed when it didn't show up. honestly, for the first time in a week, i slept like a baby last night because it was better for me to know i failed instead of hoping i passed. make sense? so when they say to wait for the official letter, it's really good advice because right when my window closed, the door swung wide open. thank you allnurses.com and a special thanks to saint637 and lillianink for taking a virtual walk with me. for those that are testing soon, good luck! for those that passed recently, congratulations! for those that are retaking their tests, stay positive and keep trekking because the view is truly breathtaking! it's worth every sore muscle and bead of sweat. we'll be cheering you on. THANK YOU! JSOME, RN
  4. Bryan, I'm pretty sure she went to the California BRN website and saw her name there. www.rn.ca.gov on the left hand side, click on: permanent license verification. in the first paragraph, click on: boards online verification system. type in your last and first name, click find. hopefully your name appears with RN and your license number. Good luck to you.
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!! and, you're advice was great.
  6. Hey Shush, well, i took my exam on tuesday, feb 10th. i had a classmate that took the exam on the same day. her name appeared on the CA BRN early this morning and mine did not. so, i've resolved a failure on my first attempt. i've heard many people tell me not to lose hope until there is a failure letter in hand but it's pretty hard. my attitude now is about moving forward and allowing myself adequate time to study. after doing kaplan and failing, i'm thinking of doing suzanne's plan as every one has only positive things to say about it on this site. just realize you are not alone. we are riding different boats, but the same wave. good luck to you in the future. keep in touch. hopefully, forty five days from now, our posts will be much different.
  7. I agree with Melinurse. Distract yourself with seasons worth of your favorite show that you've been neglecting for the past couple of years in nursing school. Catch up on them. Sure, a movie is great but only lasts two hours max. A season worth of shows can kill 10 hours easily. Haha. I recommend the comedy shows. If that doesn't work, there's always alcohol. :)
  8. I agree with Suzanne. I just found out I failed my exam. My test mainly asked the nursing interventions for the abnormal lab value. When to hydrate, when to give lasix, what med to give, when to call the physician. So, study the hypo and hyper situations.
  9. congratulations!
  10. Nevermind Shush. I just read your other post. I'm sorry to hear about your results. I took it in roseville also. I still haven't received my results but I'll keep my fingers crossed till that letter is mailed. Good luck in the future. Next time, take the test somewhere else and don't tell anyone when you're taking it. Sometimes the pressure of the phone calls, text messages can really up the anxiety levels. Take care.
  11. Shush, It's been a quite a while since your last post. Just wondering how your results turned out. The reason I ask is because our tests sound similar. Have yet to receive my results but it's not looking good. Hoping you can give me a glimmer of hope. Please let us know. Thanks.
  12. Remember that Hepatitis D is an secondary infection. One needs hep B first to get hep D.
  13. Good luck! I got my fingers crossed for you!
  14. The reason we are saying three days is because CA will usually post results within three days, pending complete paperwork and processed files. All my classmates that took their exams received results on the third day. Of course, there are outliers and circumstances that are exceptions but majority will know on the third day.
  15. Congratulations!
