  1. ist if u just fail a class i believe you can repeat the class..if u r repeating the class and not doing good, is it too late for you to drop the course and do again?...or if u dont have all ur classes taken at the school than dont use that transcript...u really have to explain to what ever school u r applying to what the reason is...there is one school u can do online..adn
  2. yes i too, jan grad and have been calling everywhere, visited numerous hospitals tired of doing the "did you check our website? jobs are there"..meanwhile there is new set of more new grads..what r we suppose to do??
  3. im a new grad in ny with the adn as previously stated bsn in some places are preferred, but the flipside of that is there are more adn program than bsn + there are only 3 schools in the nyc area that even has the bsn, pace, nyu, liu and if you count aldephi...which license are u going to get, because your school will send ur info to the fl state boards
  4. I had used kaplan consistent got 65% on q trainers 4,5 ..66% on 6,7. I did not do the qbank, qtrainers reflect the test well passed my boards this April with 75. Kaplan is a good guide but the test nowhere near but makes you comfortable and gives you the endurance once you do 6&7. I was so intent on taking the test that when the screen went blue I was like "what the", then the questionnaire told me the test was over. I took the test at 8am I was out on the street going home at 930...so good guide
  5. how r i guys getting icu positions? im in ny and they dont even want to look at you if u dont have the experience for icu and er..ive been sending out cvs and nothing..im a jan grad, boards in april and ive been pounding the web cuz these hr say "did u look on our website" ive gone to sooo many hospital in person..im at a lost:cry:
  6. i agree, yes everything on the test in irrelevant..some disease never will encounter..but..it determines if you will do what any nurse would do in that situation..just like getting a driver's license..you know how to do it..but are you safe..otherwise and though u still have them people doing anything they want without know the standards
  7. im jan grad..officially on the tanscript feb...which mean they sent the app mid feb..passed the boards april and no jopb. im in newyork average salary $70,000.noone wants to hire new grads!!.there was a time last year u could walk off the street w/out the license secure a job, sign-on bonus and any specialty..now its like all my hardwork..soo frustrating:cry:
  8. thanks this board is excellent:redpinkhe
  9. i def understand what you are saying. but those qs that your friend did, im sure were anaylsis/app based. because u cant pass the boards on just knowing comprehension qs. 2nd what is the sense of answering 4000 wrong qs that just sets u up for failure and since i have the cd i know what i am talking about. i know someone who just was using the 4000 and failed this w/e bcause she was blown away by how the qs were phrase. when i took the test the qs are so simply written but so complex...the point of soo many qs is to know the many styles that a topic can be asked, raionales are extremely important. if you can only do 1 thing perhaps look at saunders 4 ed cd, those qs are phrase diff & see how you are. all respect:yawn:
  10. Dont waste ur time with those ques. They are not analysis/app ques. And do not cover who u going to see first, what person are u going to put where etc...I have the cd bought when it 1st came out used it during nursing school..Help tremendously but when preparing for the boards I used something else...I pass today with 75
  11. u need content!! what ever u do stick to just !. i personally think kaplan becuase rather than reading all the time. the have online content review where there are video,[risk potential, health promotion etc..] broken up the way nclex categorise and someone is talking lecture with slide and u can move the cursor to whatever topic u want to listedn 20x same thing if u wanted and i think the more u hear someone say something the more u remeber. plus the have review ques. also video same broken down category where they break down the ques, why u want to do this...and more importantly the strategies!!! so u dont have to use sooo much brain power to answer the ques. i used it found out today passed. only had 75q hope it helps:typing
  12. congrats i too pass this am and it is indeed with god that got me through !!
  13. i found at this am that i passed!! i think i had insomnia for the last few days up to the test and sleep please after the test. 2nd time. my ist was in feb hi there im an example just found out today that i pass the boards!!:rolli took the ist time this in end of feb this year. grad in jan. and after studying and waiting for the school to hurry up and send list to the boards. when i took the test i was so taken back by how simple the words are written yet soo complex that i did not know how to answer, i freaked did all 265 and felt like crap!..i knew i knew the material. i had the saunder book which was what i was using and realise i needed more ques on an anaylsis/app level and no books really offer that. my friend gave me access to kap and 3 of us were using at different times and we all pass. i only used kap, did the online content which is a video breakdown of the test in on content according to how the nclex grades, i listen to that, did the trainers starting at 4 since i already took the boards there are 7 of them i had gotton a 65% on all of them and i thought i was failing, than a friend told me it was really good. not too much the qback because those ques. mess with ur head. i took the test this thu. stop at 75. found out passed today. ..forgive the typos soo excited lack of sleep, can breathe now:yeah:
