First lab in NC ....called for hair follicle testing.

I have been testing with first lab for well over a year. This morning I got a notification saying they wanted to test my hair. This is the first time this has happened. How much will this cost me? I've been clean for well over two years so I'm not worried about the results. I'm just interested if anyone else has been called for this. I didn't even know it was an option. I was told I would be submitting uds. Any incite would be helpful. Thanks.

seriously?! is this because you're so close to being done? I'd call your contact at first lab and inquire, I too was under the impression that it was a uds only deal. Not that I'd mind giving a hair sample, but really?! Please let me know what happens.

I called...I asked if this is a new thing and she said that NCBON also throw in hair and blood tests occasionally. The test costs 87.75$ ...I have two months left...hope it doesn't happen again...the lady took two large chunks out of the back of my hair.

Oh my goodness Michelle. That is crazy. I've also been testing for 2 yrs now with NCBON & have never heard of such. Where did you go to get the test done? Did you go to your regular lab?

I was sent to a testing site in my town. I was an hour late for work. Im very lucky that my bosses are understanding .

That's insane! I can only hope that this three years passes quickly, I'm two months in and have 34 more to go...feels like its already been forever!!

I started this all a little over two years ago. It feels like a dream that'll be over after November 30 th.

I know how you feel. I am one month in and have a year to go or prob longer I have to find a job first then my year starts.

I am doing my probation with the Alabama BON and in the first lab letter I received it said that they could request hair or blood samples at anytime that it didn't always necessarily had to be a UDS.

I thought or in my mind figured they would do hair or blood if they had a strong suspicion that you were cheating the system somehow. How you do that or would want to do that I don't know.

But with it being close to the end for you I guess they are just covering all bases. I wouldn't mind having a hair sample every once in awhile just to prove my innocence even further.

It must be a New thing in NC. My letter said uds .
