i am back from my first day of classes. the anxiety has lessen and the "fear" begins. :) lots of love
on mondays i have only one class and it is fundamentals of nursing (8-12). however, we met our other instructors and they gave us our reading assignments and class objectives.
i also learned that we have not just the 64 new students but 20 that are back for their second try from last fall and now we have a total of 84 students.
we were given the titles of other required-books and i did go ahead and purchase them today.
i have a 4 chapter reading assingment for my health assessement class on tomorrow and 3 chapters for pharmacology as well.
just wanted to share some of my day with you.
I too had a good day---LONG, but good.
I had pharm. at 8 a.m. this morning, then I had clinical foundations from 1-3, followed by my clinical lab from 3-6.
Needless to say, I'm tired.
Tomorrow I have patho and concepts, clinical on Wed. and Assessment on Fri.
So far, all of the instructors seem to genuinely care about our success.
I'm glad to hear of everyone's great day!!!!!
Well I had an amazing day!
I had most of my classes back to back... I was so tired from all the info that I went straight to bed after picking up my son. My hubby just started to take care of everything !
Anyway I had a good day overall! I just felt a little out of place at the beginning (Felt a little old compared to all the freshmen) but I got over it real quick!
Later guys, gotta start making flash cards for A & P...

I'm finishing up pre- and corequisites this year before starting the nursing program in May...
My first day was actually last Saturday, when I started my health termin. class. Great teacher, who had us all in stitches even with the dry subject matter, and met mzmckim from the boards (who's very nice in person and also kept me giggling!).
Had A&P and pharm yesterday. A&P doesn't seem too bad and the instructor is also very personable. Pharm class was last night, and the instructor is great...better yet, both exams (yes, including the final) are TAKE HOME!!!! (and they're not even essay exams). I'm sure they'll be a lot harder than in class exams, but it's just a great comfort knowing that I won't have to undergo the typical exam anxiety...

WOW.
First day was yestderday with Fundamentals from 8-12:30 and by the time I got home to put the dog out (I had to be back to school at 5 for history) I couldn't read one more word. I sat on my bed to organize everything and PASSED OUT!!!:zzzzz
Today I had Health Assessment from 8-12:30 and it was good. I really like my professors and I think once I get into the swing of things it won't be so overwhelming. I have to start my Pathophysiology on-line class today, too. I'm going to have words shooting out my ears from all my reading!!! :rotfl:
I was so worried yesterday after I left Fundamentals that there was no way I could do all of this. :chair: But, after a good night's sleep and some distance from all the information cramming, I have a much better outlook.
I just can't believe that it's here. I'm ACTUALLY in nursing classes now!
Question: Why do I suddenly feel like such a fraud?
