First clinical. Where was yours??

Our first clinical is in geriatrics. We get assigned to either a nursing home or to a skilled unit in a hospital.

I scored the skilled unit in a local hospital . . . not sure if that is better or worse than a nursing home.

Where was your first clinical rotation??

My first clinical rotation (Fundamentals) was at a rehab center for the first half, and then med-surg floors the second half - I was in orthopedics.

Ours was in a transitional care center ...... folks in-between hospital and either going home or going to long term care. The pts I had were great - many headed home and very upbeat and positive, which makes one's first clinical experience a lil easier, I think :)
