Most of us, most of the time, love being nurses. Secretly...if money wasn't really an issue...and you did need to work somewhere doing something...what "do you want to be when you grow up?"
If money was no object, I'd actually want to be an administrative assistant - someone's secretary! Answering phones, greeting people, stuff like that...crazy, I know.
What about you?
And please....sincere posts only. Let's keep it clean.
start up the best LTC in the world. Spacious rooms wonderful food. Nurses only taking care of three residents CNAs maybe 5 at the most. Never running out of supplies or meds. Heat and air conditioning through entire building plenty of extra rooms to have activities. My list could go on and on.Everyone would want to be a resident and every nurse and CNA would love their jobs
Oh I so wish this could be the "norm." Especially as the Baby Boomers age and the need increases...daily.
Great idea!
Hey, she said keep it clean!
Yes I did and thank you to those of you who are keeping it clean. Much appreciated.
I actually had to ask Admin to edit my first post because some of the first few answers were slightly inappropriate. If someone else wants to start that kind of thread, that's their business, but I wanted this thread to be fun (and appropriate). Thanks to all who are participating in it - it's lots of fun to read all the answers :).

"by krRN86, RN I love forensic science...so that orrr a medical examiner...when I was younger I wanted to work in a funeral home doing embalming"
Have you ever looked into Public Health Nursing? (for the forensic science part?)

No life long student here. I really didn't like sitting in lecture for hours.Anywho....I do know what you mean wanting to be a Admin. Asst. I was one pre-nursing...MANY moons ago. haha
I think, if I could go back and do it again, I would have been an RT (Respiratory Therapist). But my dream job would be a photographer, IF I made money at it.
Thanks for sharing :)
Did you know that there is such a specialty as forensic nursing? In many smaller communities, it's the forensic nurse who acts as the coroner. And they do a lot of medical examiner work in many, many settings, in police and death investigations and other matters. You can do it now! I've met some of these folks and they totally love what they do.
I mistakenly thought (I guess) that most forensic nurses did the rape kits/investigations. Didn't know there was that much to do!
