I was fired from a facility, which I basically think is bunch of BS . The DON said i had 2 complaints that my attitude was rude and rough. Thats not me. Not only that, ppk were around. There was no investigation. I was there for 3 mos. I had no infractions, or complaints. I think the whole thing was bogus! No write ups. I had another job prior that o held for 8 mos and they loved me, but the position was part time. I left them under good terms. Now im stuck doing sitter cases until something better comes along. I hv 4 kids that i support by myself. I hv a bachelors degree, and decided to go into nursing. I feel like my effort and sacrifices r bn wasted, and fear I am going to b stuck at a deas end job forever. Im wondering will i ever find another job? Mind u this lasy job had someone,an employee, which was n the community paper for drug abuse. Her picture and everything! A nurse told the DON! she kept calling off, even through the holidays. They kept her! I guess hvn someone who's addicted to drugs is safer to hv around than a nurse with a couple of unfounded complaints. WTH? Some insight on this pls...and mind u all that i hv received awards and recognition for my customer service every since i've bn n health care.

Most healthcare facilities have a clause enabling them to terminate employees at any time and for any reason (without just cause) during the first 90 days of the employment period. It looks as if they fired you right when you reached your 90th day, which happens rather often, especially when management dislikes you for some reason.
This is why I urge all people to be agreeable, pleasant, and be on their very best behavior during the first 90 days on a new job.

Four kids, I feel for you. Don't get bitter and keep plugging away at it.

Sounds like they did you a huge favor. Brush yourself off and look forward to better days ahead. You *will* find a better job!

Absolutely, you will find another job! I too, got fired from my first nursing job close to three months in...and it sucked. But I continued on working other places! Be positive and take away what you can learn from the situation and try to forget the rest.

Look up "employment attorney" on the internet. If they truly have no paperwork to justify firing you, you have a case.

How's it going? I got fired from my 1st nursing job today after 18 months working there. I am just curious if you found a job and how soon afterwards did you find it? thanks
