I was wondering if you get enough money in financial aid, but still need help financially as far as gas or helping to pay bills can you then get a loan, or can you only get a loan if financial aid isn't enough for books and tuition? Thanks!
(By loan I mean stafford loan)

Yes, you can. I do. My grants cover my tuition and books, but I have taken out loans to help me with extra expenses such as gas and extra childcare while I am in school. I have also used some money to purchase a laptop for school.
Well unfortunately sometimes added expenses brought on by attending school aren't reflected in extra pay. Your response didn't really help the OP with her question.
I work full time, unfortunately it isn't enough to cover everything extra for school. Some nursing students aren't able to work during school either.

Yes- my stafford loans are always slightly more than books and tuition just in case of emergencies/surprise expenses. I'd avoid private loans if at all possible though- you wind up paying a lot more interest generally.

yes you can get loans to cover the cost of things besides school and books. I usually always take out a couple thousand extra in federal loans to help cover the cost of things I need while finishing up with school. I took out an extra thousand this quarter to help with a few bills and a few other things. Do whatever you have to do to make it through..just remember you do have to pay it back so only take out what you really really need.
I have a J.O.B. I was just thinking in terms of the extra gas and such since I have to driver over and hour each way. Thank you for your encouragement.

I also have a job, a really good paying job--as my profile indicates. However, since I aiming to be an accelerated MSN program--it is not possible to work enough to pay my way through. I should be able to land scholarships to cover the bulk of tuition and fees, but I still need money for soap, toothpaste, and laundry detergent. So I know where you are coming from :)
Yea, it isn't easy especially when you have a family, a job and multiple other irons in the fire. But I am determined to make it one way or the other!! Good luck!

hey i was wondering if you can get a personal education loan for a vocational school (LPN). ACIT doesn't offer financial aid, we're routed to a one-stop building for financial assistance, which i know is most likely a direct loan, but i know that only covers tuition. what about daycare expenses, gas, uniforms and everything else?

Where did u apply for your loans? I need help as well or i wont be able to attend achool.
Before anything, you need to fill out a FAFSA form. You should speak to your FA office and they can direct you on how to apply for Stafford Loans. Its pretty simple, but it all depends on who they go through.
