  1. I am wondering if when you graduate and get your first nursing job how long it takes to move up the pay scale? Do you just get raises every year or what. Thanks in advance.
  2. That's what you call dedicated! Good thing it is only one day a week.
  3. Hi, I am hoping to be accepted to the Summer 09 group. I have got to go talk to the counselor and see if I have a chance. So don't know for sure if I can even apply, but I'm hoping to apply and be accepted. Wanda
  4. Do you know if you can use chemistry 101 (or it maybe 103) towards the points they give you for classes already taken? It says college chemistry, but I didn't know if that would transfer. Thanks!
  5. Yea, it isn't easy especially when you have a family, a job and multiple other irons in the fire. But I am determined to make it one way or the other!! Good luck!
  6. I have a J.O.B. I was just thinking in terms of the extra gas and such since I have to driver over and hour each way. Thank you for your encouragement.
  7. I was wondering if you get enough money in financial aid, but still need help financially as far as gas or helping to pay bills can you then get a loan, or can you only get a loan if financial aid isn't enough for books and tuition? Thanks! (By loan I mean stafford loan)
  8. where do I go to do the interview?
  9. Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better because I'm gonna need every point I can get!
  10. Yes it does make sense. I gues I will call Fin Aid sometime this week and ask more questions. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the info! Do you know if you still get the section II points if you didn't take our pre-reqs at Jeff State? I read that for one of the schools you didn't get the extra 11 points possible if you didn't attend that school for pre-reqs, but I can't remember which one it is.
  12. Yes I applied for Fin Aid to start this January (Spring) and then Summer of this year to finish up my pre-reqs, but I am not sure if I will get enough Fin Aid to cover my classes so I might need a loan for those classes nd then I am hoping to get financial aid and/or loans for nursing school if I get in this Fall, which I am hoping and praying I do. I hope that makes a little more sense.
  13. How do you know how much to ask for when taking out a student loan? Can I apply for student loan (stafford) before they tell me if I get my financial aid? I haven't been told how much financial aid I will get other than my EFC is 1229, because I had to file an appeal in order to get my financial aid and they don't meet until January. How do you get extra money to help pay expenses when taking out a loan? I am hoping to get into nursing school Fall 09, but I have a few pre-reqs to finish up. I have three kids, a husband, a mortgage and all of the normal expenses so I really don't have any out of pocket money to put towards my education. Also, my oldest daughter graduates in 09 and I'm wondering if by me going to school if that will affect any financial aid, ect that she may be eligible for? I don't want to mess up any of her chances at all. I am getting quite frustrated. I wanted to early register so the good classes wouldn't be filled up but I was told I won't be able to do that because the financial aid people don't meet until January and that I may be late starting my classes which doesn't make any sense. Why would they not go ahead and meet so people could get registered in time for classes.
  14. I'm just currious to see how far some of you have to drive to nursing school. If I get into the program where I am applying I will have to drive over an hour. Do you think that is too far?
