I have been out of school since I graduate from a BSN program last May. I have been applying for numerous jobs in new orleans, houston, and dallas. Not one person called me from new orleans for an interview. This really had me discourage but I had way better luck in houston and dallas. I finally got offered a job here in Texas. I'm just writing this to encourage all you new grads out there that feels discourage right now. There is work for us! You just have to be persistent and use your resources like your former nursing school instructors. They are great people to get advice and letters of recommendation from. It goes a long way. Good luck to you all!

Congratulations to both of you!!!
@future looks good - Do you live outside of Texas? If so, how did you interview - just over the telephone or did you have to travel for interviews?

I'm in Texas. A couple hospitals from dallas were willing to do an over the phone interview but those where very few. Most places wanted me to travel for an interview.
