After a year and a half, and 3 tries later, I start my RN program at St. Johns River State College on August 18th 2014....WOOOHOOOOOO here we gooooo. What an adventure at 43 years old. I have worked as a clinical dialysis technician for 13 years, and for 9 years before that I worked as a firefighter EMT. I am so ready for this next chapter and finally realizing a dream.

Congratulations on getting accepted to Nursing School! I sent out 15 applications (2 per semester) and #14 and #15 were accepted, for the same semester. I know it's a long road getting in and it'll be a tough road getting through, but it's doable.

Nursing school will be the hardest thing you have ever dealt with. I had tears, blood, and sweat all through my nursing school experience. Remind yourself often why you are going through all of that and you should do just fine! I wish you luck and feel free to friend me. I'm happy to help anyone with questions or concerns :)

You will have days when you think to yourself, "holy **** why the **** did I just practically beg these people to actually put me through THIS?!?!?!" but I do promise you with all of my heart that every single step off the graduation stage and toward your first day on the job will make you know over and over again that it was all the most amazing journey, and it was worth it. Best wishes to you in nursing school, love ❤️
P.S. When you do have those moments as noted above, a good cry never hurt anybody and it's okay to question your sanity.
Don't worry about questioning your sanity... nursing school is, by definition, insane. Trust me, you'll fit right in... Now, please excuse me while I wander over there and mumble to myself about Nursing Care Plans...
