i'm a newbie in the nursing profession and i can't help but put a sigh after reading the last page of the forum. sometimes when we do something our intention is mainly to help others but unconciously while doing these things we hurt and worst we discriminate other people.peace

hey my batchmates from apex last March 4 interview... do you have any info as to how many of you are going this Aug 18? and Aug 11? and what advice can you give me. Actually I had my medical since last April 26, received my compliance last June 4 but up to now, I haven't received my visa yet... perhaps coz i was not able to give my eligibility to the embassy.:crying2: Its so frustrating that SRNA had been having meticulous verifications from my previous employers here (imagine... 4x) plus the fact that their mails have been lost twice and their fax couldn't reach the Philippines. In fact I think I spent more money than any other applicant with regards to the sending of documents back to the SRNA via fed ex and fax. Those who have no employers here were the luckiest of all coz they easily got their eligibility and visas... coz there was no need for employer verifications hehehe, as according to ____

So what I can say to those who have their plain tickets and visas, bye, and never let the reputation of Filipino RNs down. strive hard. Hope I'll join you sooner or later (those hired by the saskatoon health region) guys. Dunno when the next batch will be??? Please do send tips with regards to how they conduct the CRNE... muah3!

I wanna give up... its really so frustrating and exhausting on my part guys... :bluecry1:

Greet me , i'll be having my 24th bday on Aug 11...

I was already expecting to be place in Parkridge together with clueless and essirrach but I received a text message this morning telling me that my jobsite will be at SPH. I’m still waiting for Ma’am A to confirm this matter because the person who texted me is not “really” connected with the agency but somehow I know he’s reliable. Actually, there are a lot of things that I want to clarify regarding my pending job in Saskatoon but unfortunately due to the bad weather which is almost a week now, it’s very hard to get to the city coming from the province. :smackingf

My whole experience with this application to Canada taught me two important things. First, always expect the unexpected because things may change from time to time. Second, do not be so fretful in case there are delays in the application or departure date, instead practice being more patient and understanding. Everything will depend on the decision of the employers and the embassy as well.:wshgrt:

I was saddened by the news (in case it’s true) but as of now, my real concern is where to get all the materials that I need so I could start reading to help myself prepare for CRNE.:grn:

So perhaps, Mercan screens their people with less care?

Just want to put my two cents in.

I was hired by Mercan for Capital Health, and it would seem to be biased to you what you wil be reading.

It seems that nurses from Mercan are already generalized as the 'bad ones' in this forum. Maybe Fiona worked with the 'inexperienced ones' but Its already exasperating to read each and every thread about nurses hired from Mercan for Capital Health are "this and that". I love this forum so much I visit it everyday because I get so much information I couldnt get from anyone else. But everytime I see the threads of 'generalizations' or better yet indirect discrimination about Mercan nurses, I just couldnt help but frown.

I guess the ghost of the past still haunts me. I was a passer of the June 2006 licensure exam, and all 17,000 of us were doubted of our competence because of a fault 3 people did... Now this. Completely disheartening.

There are more of us coming there soon, perhaps a benefit of the doubt?

Thank you for sharing your opinion about Mercan. But please remember the main subject of this thread.

Let us avoid any more debates.

hi,

just reading about this issues on agency, well it doesn't matter anymore weather you are from whatever agency if you started working it will not matter at all.

believe me what matters will be YOU and just the employers, because not everybody will go on the same unit. you just have to prove to them that you are capable and deserving to be included in the program.

willingness to learn and right attitude holds a persons character. so do your best and bear in mind that you are hired not just for the money but because you have a responsibility and obligations to your patients to provide safe, competent & ethical care. weather you are an experienced or aspiring nurse, you know that protecting the public is at the heart of your chosen profession.

so goodluck to all of you..........hope to see you here in SK.
