hi!.. Im not new to allnurses but its my first time to post a thread. I have been reading a lot of articles regarding nurses wanting to go to Canada. I am currently employed here in Saudi and also submitted my applications with CRNBC. Am waiting for the results, I would just like to ask if any of you guyz has the same path like me, employed here in Saudi but is processing for Canada papers, If yes, may I ask how did/do you go about it? Do I need to resign and process in the PHilippines or Can I do the processing here in K.S.A? Thank you so much for any information you could provide me...

Why should you resign and go back to the Philippines? You should be able to do everything from Saudi Arabia

I wish I can.. I am not really familiar with how things are to be process here in Saudi especially that I am here in Jeddah. If you have any information or u know someone which has the same thread as mine..I'd be glad to know.I dont want to end my contract until my processing in Canada becomes ok.. thanks Silverdragon

You use your SA address for all documentation. once you meet province college requirements you can look for a employer and start the paperwork. You do not need an agency and all paperwork can be found on the CIC website. Easy to complete and not many forms plus good information on completing the forms. you then apply to your local/nearest Canadian embassy and should be able to find address on CIC website

Be aware that you may have issues finding a employer with current situations that is happening in some of the provinces as it is having a knock on effect with other provinces

thanks silverdragon.. i have been browsing the healthmatch bc..can you suggest where is the best place to settle in bc? and may i ask where and how to start lodging my application with the hospitals?.. thanks again and more power....:yeah:

hi again silverdragon.. i am planning to apply as skilled immigrant in canada since i know that recruitment is frozen right now. i have read the cic forms and had a copy of them my problem is, im still single, do you have an idea if they really require a couple?. I am also not sure what are my chances to ba granted a visa. Is visa granted only to nurses with eligibility to take CRNA or I can get the VISA even I am not eligible? thank you..

Not a problem if you are single, just complete them with relevant information and put n/a where not applicable. I know many single people that have gone through the process.

If you are going the skilled worker route you complete forms and must have at least 1 years continuous full time paid work as the occupation is on the list.

Immigrating to Canada: Skilled workers and professionals - Who can apply

Question to Greenbutterfly.

I was wondering how is like working as a nurse in Saudi Arabia? What is the avarage wage in nursing (RN)? Is that hard to get a job for new grads from the US?

Thank you,

hi bek1975.. its nice to work here in Saudi.. lifestyle is not that expensive why most filipinos preferred to work here.. housing and transportation is company provided. tax free salary.. just that wages depends on years on experience, you can be employed with government or private hospitals.. benefits i think differ among hospitals. if your lucky you can get a job with food allowances aside from the benefits i mentioned..

hi silverdragon.. thanks again.i got almost 4 years experience in emergency nursing. im planning to apply by december and also do you know somebody single and without relatives in canada was able to land as skilled immigrant? thank you...

Yes I do know single people with no rels that have landed in Canada

hi silverdragon.. did you also processed with the skilled immigrant route? i have a question regarding how two or more bachelor's degree equals to 22 points, what about if i have 2 different courses does it count? i have read the cic site but it does not explain further if it is a master's degree or any additional course will do. when does formal education for canada begins? and also do i need a canadian rn before applying for immigration or i can register later if i had the visa. i am really confused right now. hope you could help me.. thanks a lot
