Filipino Nurse in Saudi wants to go to Canada

Published

hi!.. Im not new to allnurses but its my first time to post a thread. I have been reading a lot of articles regarding nurses wanting to go to Canada. I am currently employed here in Saudi and also submitted my applications with CRNBC. Am waiting for the results, I would just like to ask if any of you guyz has the same path like me, employed here in Saudi but is processing for Canada papers, If yes, may I ask how did/do you go about it? Do I need to resign and process in the PHilippines or Can I do the processing here in K.S.A? Thank you so much for any information you could provide me...

I came over on my husbands TWP and we are now applying for PR because of his job. You can start the process before sitting CRNE as long as you meet requirements and NOC list (Nursing does meet requirements of the list)

Which category are you apply through? I found this but not sure if this is the way you are going? Skilled Worker Online Self-Assessment - Education

yes, I am trying the Skilled worker category.. hopefully after I retake my ielts then I would apply for skilled immediately..thanks silver dragon..

hi Silverdragon102,

i just want some help on how to start my application to canada.

I've inquired some help then they said, would be better to have tourist visa going to canada while looking for work, Is that not risky to do?

Some reason they say is for me to know how life in canada would be like.

But anyway, work/study/tourist visa, any of those, main thing i wanna know is how to start. Really, i don't know how. Please help. Thanks :)

Starting point would be deciding on province and meeting their requirements for RN. Tourist visa will not give you a true idea on life in Canada. NNAS is the first port of call. There are a few different routes on coming to Canada and you would need to check out the CIC website for the route that will suit you

hmm...okay.. thank you so much.. guest i have to take some exams or training. :)

k1991, It's always a good idea to look before you leap, if you can afford to visit Canada before making the decision to immigrate here, it will help you to feel more confident about your decision. However, if you apply for jobs while you are on a tourist visa, you will not receive a job offer. The Canadian job market has a surplus of local qualified applicants and there is no reason for employers to hire offshore, unlicensed, internationally educated nurses.

Hi green butterfly! I am also working here in jeddah and i planning to apply to canada but i don't really have any idea how and where to begin. Can you please share your knowedge about the process? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, God bless!

H silverdragon! I am also working here in jeddah and is planning to apply for canada but i dont really have any idea how and where to begin. I've read your replies to other nurses but got confused with CIC and NNAS, what are those? And also, do we have to take ielts here in saudi for that? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless..

CIC is the Canadian government immigration website which lists lots of different ways you can move to live and work in Canada. NNAS is the organisation that currently all provinces except Quebec require you to go through to have your nursing transcripts assessed. English exams will be required both for the province as well as government. Suggest starting point would be reading the college of RN website for the province you plan on working and living in

thank you so much..i may have some more question in the near future once I walk through the infos you just provided..Hope you will still be there. Thanks again!

Hi Sliver Dragon , I have been following this thread. I am a British nurse in London ( noted you were also from UK) and I am just at the start of researching moving to Canada with my family. I am almost 2 year post qualified here and did the research and realised my first step to see if my Nursing course is Ok to practice in Canada is that I have to be assessed through NNAS. My plan is to do express entry to immigrate but parallel to get starting on my nursing qualification assessment. I'm hoping to do Alberta, but is there a province you feel will be easier to get in ?

Also , I trained in London where I did the 3 year nursing( but did accelerated programme in 2 years have a previous degree not nursing social work ) .... common foundation and went Peadtrics ...most UK nurses trained adults will this be a problem ?

I know I will need ILETS for my immigration application but also they asking for my qualification education points to be on the express entry ..im confuse as I know I will do the NNAS first To trigger getting licensed but the ECA ?? would need to look at my qualification ie Diploma to see how many points ..I don't get that part ...please can you shed some light as UK nurse ...Many Thanks

NNAS can be a long process so suggest getting this first. Your transcripts need to show clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. Alberta is a hard provinceto find a job in. The Maritime provinces may be easier in regards finding work once you have sorted registration with a college out. Most provinces have the same process to go through, it just might have a different name. Most seem to expect some form of course or courses to complete hence my statement getting NNAS sorted. You can get more points if you have a job to go to.
