Filipino Nurse - NCLEX application in California

World Registration

Published

Hi there!

I've just applied online via Breeze.com to take the NCLEX. Now 2 weeks after, I received a letter saying i have to send them additional requirements other than the basic ones I've sent previously with my application. And that includes my 1. COMPLETE record of Clinical cases ( delivery actual + assist, cord dressings, major & minor procedures ) reflecting exact dates, location, name of procedure & signature of instructor, etc. 2. Academic calendar with exact dates of the semester, holidays and sembreaks 3. Copy of clinical rotation schedule.. All these must be sent directly from my school way back in the Philippines to BON here in CA. Ok i understand.. that's what i did too with my transcripts initially. But my concern is that, what if my school can't provide those anymore?? :( Also aside those 3, they also require from me a copy of my clinical rotation booklet/log.. and where the heck am i suppose to dig that up??.. huhu.. i graduated 2007 and its been years.. :crying2: i feel so helpless... came up searching in google for people who has/had the same experience and eventually led me in this forum.. i've read other's posts which says it's kinda hard getting a license here in CA, that maybe they'll have me take MS/OB course too, that I can apply and try in another state and so on and so on.. which makes me even more sad.. i have a baby and it's sorta hard for me to try on the other options.. but still trying to be positive.. anyone who can advise me on things to do next?? i need help... thanks! :D

I hope your application gets done fast too ;-) I am trying to self review using NCLEX by saunders. Me too It is really hard to refresh everything but I hope we pass ;-)

I am using that book too. :) thank u so much. And I believe you will pass. :) God bless u

Hi kabayan,

Yes, we share much. The filing system is still primitive so it will be hard. But still some of the BVNPT requirement would be sent from the school and you still need to pay for another fee for BVNPT.

I am gonna take my chances and take BVNPT exam on Oct. And take the classes since a school already offered them. I hope I pass one or/and the other.

My documents was sent through the express mail in a local post office because they are the only one who does not require receiving signature but they have tracking so you track it.

You can also call because they can I guess see it in there system.

Alright MORasks.. So it's like pretty much getting back to square 1 with BVNPT.. although of course that's already something, at least you already know what to do and comply with.. And we all got to know too! :yeah: Thanks to u! Btw, my docs were sent through DHL and said it should only take a week for BRN to receive them. Well, I guess they did, i'm just being paranoid.. :cat: I tried calling but failed due to a very long wait. Anyway, really appreciate all the infos, i wish you good luck on your upcoming exam.. October is fast approaching! I hope you stick around in case we need help again.. God bless u!

Your welcome and thanks. Ill stick for long :-) and thanks too. Keeping my fingers crossed

Hi eds, i am also a product of pines city colleges. I have a lot of questions about application. Can u email m at [email protected] pls. Thanks!!!

Hello!! EdZ86, I'm curious to know what happened to your evaluation? Were you able to take the NCLEX or did they require you to go back to school for completion of units.

I'm planning to moved to Cali and sit the exam after getting the ssn. However, I'm concerned about the concurrency issue. Hope you can share to me your experience .

I would be grateful to hear from you.

Hey cj25! Nope, i wasn't able to take the nclex there in cali.. So I decided to move here in texas. I took nclex here and now an RN. I'm working here for more than a year now. I think Cali BON still has the same requirements for taking nclex at this time coz i just heard from someone recently and they are requiring her to complete the whole nursing program now.

Hi Edz86, i searched a thread regarding lincense endorsement to California and I read your past posts. Were u able to obtain your California License after submitting requirements that Ca BRB required you to submit? ( complete opy of cases, academic Calendar, etc?)

BTW, I am a graduate of Pines City Colleges, Baguio City way back 2006. I am currently holding a New Mexico License and in the process of Endorsement to California. I'm worried that our curriculum before doesn't meet the number of required hours as some of my school mates were required to have additional study in OB ans MS in California.

Hi zayde0924 ,

CONGRATULATIONS for passing the RN New Mexico Exam!

Did you endorse your license to California?

If you can please tell me the process here or in private message. I would greatly appreciate. To give you a little background of me. I passed IELTS and NCLEX from another state. CGFNS evaluated my credentials.Thank you very much!!!
