Hi there!
I've just applied online via Breeze.com to take the NCLEX. Now 2 weeks after, I received a letter saying i have to send them additional requirements other than the basic ones I've sent previously with my application. And that includes my 1. COMPLETE record of Clinical cases ( delivery actual + assist, cord dressings, major & minor procedures ) reflecting exact dates, location, name of procedure & signature of instructor, etc. 2. Academic calendar with exact dates of the semester, holidays and sembreaks 3. Copy of clinical rotation schedule.. All these must be sent directly from my school way back in the Philippines to BON here in CA. Ok i understand.. that's what i did too with my transcripts initially. But my concern is that, what if my school can't provide those anymore?? Also aside those 3, they also require from me a copy of my clinical rotation booklet/log.. and where the heck am i suppose to dig that up??.. huhu.. i graduated 2007 and its been years.. i feel so helpless... came up searching in google for people who has/had the same experience and eventually led me in this forum.. i've read other's posts which says it's kinda hard getting a license here in CA, that maybe they'll have me take MS/OB course too, that I can apply and try in another state and so on and so on.. which makes me even more sad.. i have a baby and it's sorta hard for me to try on the other options.. but still trying to be positive.. anyone who can advise me on things to do next?? i need help... thanks!

Hi I graduated 2007 as well. Never dared to apply for RN now cause of the concurrency issue. So taking the lvn route. I just submitted my application 1 week ago.
Thanks cherrybee.. appreciate it! yes i thought about that too, CNA or LVN for the meantime.. if only i have known more of the concurrent issue, i could have had second thoughts of my NCLEX app.. no one ever told me about it.. or i guess it's because i've never asked.. but still waiting to see what'll happen next coz im currently requesting my school to provide those additionals which i hope they can produce.. still keeping my fingers crossed! :) but if things don't go my way, might as well do the LVN.. again thank u! and good luck on your journey..
Yes just keep on going... :) and never give up on your dreams. In time... you will still reach them all.. Are u here in cali? If its ok may I ask what school were u from? Thanks

Guys and gals, just know that there have been a few others before you that could not the provide the minimum CA BRN requirements of providing said documentations as they requested.
There's also been one recent poster who tried to endorse her out of state license into CA and another one was already working in CA (but asked to return the license back or face action against her). Their particular cases involved also had whereby their own schools, they stopped any record keeping after 2009.
The results were that they were not qualified to be licensed in CA.
Not sure if going the LVN-RN route might help as you guys may be the first guinea pigs (in a nice way) to test the waters since the CA BRN requirements may still be met, as they must determine from your transcripts still to see if they might be still deficient besides the MS OB courses, some have received their denial letter due to missing two other courses: Psych and Peds (from the Phils).
Of course, going out of state to get your RN license then try to endorse back into CA will not work either since you'll be applying (same goes for any nurses (local, domestic or international) as an endorsement, which is basically the same requirement qualification as any first-time applicant.
Your one option is to try the CA BRN appeal process (must do so within one year of the denial letter), but most likely you'll be asked the same set of required documents. Thank the other greedy and selfish PH nurses who lied and cheated their way to get a CA license and thus, the more need for further and closer microscopic look at the PH students and nurses.
Can't be blaming the CA BRN at all, they are simply enforcing the laws, rules and regulations to protect the patients against these fraudsters. Those are people that if you know obtained their license in this evil manner to report them to the CA BRN Enforcement Dept., you can do this without giving them your name.
Yup im here.. :) And you are too right? Anyway, are you a fellow kababayan? Coz if you are, well i came from Pines City Colleges in Baguio City if you're familiar with the place..

Hi kabayan,
I dont know if I will be a help or not but. I graduated at a college in baguio too and when I applied I did it directly with BRN they had me do thesame thing. Gladly I still have some of my C.Is there and contacted one of them, who gladly responded. He told me that it is not easy to look for documents especially when it is almost burried in boxes he suggested for me to send someone to actually help look for them in pile of boxes. It took a day and a half. When it was found it was sent. Well when my evaluation was done I was deficient in MS and OB but included in my letter was a suggestion that I should take LVN and my evaluator would send my transcripts from BRN to BVNPT but all the other stuff needs to be sent from school again, but atleast you already have the file prepared in your school so they can send it easier.
deal! :) oh for RN coz that's really.. mainly my goal.. but ill let you know what happens after a few more weeks or months of waiting I guess.. according to their website, they are currently evaluating applicants who cashiered in june.. and I applied and paid early august.. so.. it'll take me some time.. if things don't go as I have planned then I hope I can ask u more about LVN? :) and of course vice versa. . so best of luck to both of us! (crossing fingers) thanks ha..
