my monthly is 6,180 (gross) in pesos..
have to seek my luck there...:)
ill be taking my CGFNS exam this september 10...hopefully ill pass the test...wish me luck!!!
Hey guys! Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm a filipino nursing student born here in the U.S. but my parents are from CEBU. I attend Texas Women's University in the Texas Medical Center and even though its stressfull and hard at times I know how blessed I was to be accepted into this school (800 applied this semester and only 80 got in including me! ) And as a plus i get to do my clinicals in the world's BEST hospitals. Also its very easy to find a job especially people from my school. Students have jobs in place even before they graduate and many work while there in school as student nurses. I'm am also the youngest student in my class (i'm 19), the students are usually people pursuing second degrees in nursing because of the job stability and high pay. After school I plan to work at Texas Children's Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for about a year and then move on to become a Nurse Anesthetist. It's alot of work but I know in the end it will all pay off.
I just want to encourage all of you nurses or nursing students in the philippines who are trying to come here to keep at it because it is definantely worth it. Also during my clinicals, there is ALOT of filipino nurses so if they can do it you can too.
The pay for nursing here varies around from 50,000-100,000 US dollars a year. That about (3,000,000 - 5,000,000 a yr). Just a little info to keep ya'll motivated. When I start working I am actually gonna pay for one of my neices in the philippines to go to nursing school. I wanna help as much as I can.

Hello everyone! its my last week here in the Philippines. I'll be leaving for the states next week. and im so excited, and anxious as well. I'll be working in FL. Spring hill to be exact. I hope somebody can tell me something about that place. Im only 22 years old, finished all the necessary exams and i really dont want to leave home yet but i dont have much of a choice. Hi! I'm a nurse not from abroad but here in Olongapo City. We're on the same boat. I also would like to work abroad. Once you passed the state board exam, it will be very easy for you to find a job in the US. There are thousands of agencies that can help achieve our dreams. There are also those who are willing to assist us on reviews & exams free. Sad to say I don't have time to do such things 'coz I'm working during my day offs as a cllinical instructor.
I earn P451/day as staff nurse & P1600/day as CI. While waiting for an opportunity, try to make use of your time more profitable.

been an RN here in the US since 2002, I have a colleague in our Residency Class for Critical Care who's been here for almost 2 years now, she worked in Ireland for 3 years prior to coming here...been telling me she regretted her decision in coming here, she said it's more stressful here - citing several things, including, RN-patient ratio, breaktimes, vacations, and the like. anyway, i'm not trying to discourage you, its really up to you, some of us can easily adapt and adjust...only thing that matters is your personal and professional happines. I also have a classmate, been working in London for 5 years and moved in San Francisco a couple years back, and she said the transition period is really hard but she said she has no regretsn in coming here.:innerconf

EAC has an age limit?

Sorry, but that is incorrect. Whenever and if they decide to make the decision to open there, it takes months. It will not be an overnight thing. So, there are no centers that have opened today there.
Remember how many months in advance that you heard and knew about the center opening in HonG Kong last year? And about the new centers that just opened today in India, etc. Japan has been listed already but no dates for even scheduling have been listed for them as of yet............The newest centers just opened today, on the 1st of April, and the Philippines was not included on that list. Nor is it on the list for opening this summer.

And I just checked the website for Pearosn-Vue, there are no centers scheduled to open in Philippines posted there. This is just another rumor floating around Manila.
