FGCU CRNA 2019

Published

Hi! I know I am early but anyone looking to apply for FGCU starting Jan 2019? Apps are due May 15, 2018! Anyone know the stats of people who have gotten in and interview tips? Thanks in advance! :)

If they're approved for DNP, it will not begin 2019. We interviewed for a masters program and that is what they have to deliver. It would take some time too to hire the extra staff, etc for DNP curriculum.

What I'm saying is...It's the same process applying through the COA with two separate outcomes. 1) increasing amount of students they can accommodate (MSN 19' and DNP 20') up to 24 AND 2) approval of DNP curriculum - approval to take 24 students was never in fact a certainty for MSN at the time of interviews, but the only thing that makes sense to me that is delaying admission completion from what I have heard from both Gretchen and PD - just my observation I'm sharing with the group

I didn't know COA had anything to do with number of students. I thought more faculty and clinical sites is what's needed to increase class size and that that is decided by the university. Don't know much about this, but it's good to know there's some reason it's taking seemingly f-o-r-e-v-e-r :) Thank you for sharing!

yes the COA decides how many students each program can admit.

Maybe they are just waiting to send official rejections in case some one who was admitted decides to jump ship. Probably, all the spots are filled. But its better for them to hold-off on official rejections until they are sure everyone who was admitted will attend. If somebody decides to go somewhere else they can go down the roster to the 3rd and 4th strings.

This interview took place 2 months ago, and they said it would take 2 weeks to a month to get a response depending on when we interviewed. It's extremely disrespectful that they are dodging questions and emails. Congrats to everyone that already know there status but I hope this isn't how communication throughout the program works.

Disrespectful? LOL. A school you apply to does not owe you anything... You are not entitled to a speedy trial when applying to NA programs. Heck, you aren't even entitled to a fair trial. Hope this #SenseOfEntitlement didn't come across in your interview. If we did not hear by now we probably did not get in.

How was the communication about the interview process? (I thought pretty good.)

Let's get real here, dodging is not a good word to use and badmouthing a program you (likely) did not get into won't get you in to a program any faster. How about some #SelfReflection.

Expecting professionalism and common courtesy is "entitlement?" Communication about the process was fine, and has been abysmal since. Dodging is a perfect word, as questions go unanswered and emails are ignored. All people are asking for is a definitive answer. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Okayyyyyy... here's one for ya. You still have a dog in the fight (albeit a small dog) until you get your official rejection letter. So be happy you have not gotten it yet and hope that someone decides they don't want to move to Sunny Florida and you get their spot.

Maybe check your junk email.

I realistically think they only have 18 spots they have filled/offered and are waiting to get their approval for the DNP program (this month) which they are asking for the ability to take 24 students. When this goes through they will do what they need to do to fill the other 6 spots accordingly. This is what I have pieced together with the little information I have received. If they get the approval for next year to accommodate 24 for the DNP they will be able to take 24 this year which I assume they will because they are a quality school. That being said I think they are avoiding answering any of our inquiries due to the fact that they honestly don't know what they are going to do. It has been 2 months without any contact of any sort which I feel a simple yes/no would suffice as it is a lot of work applying and interviewing to all these programs to still feel there is a chance is just pure torture.

Inspector Clouseau, I think you're way off base.

You must have a lot of time on your hands. No one is acting entitled or sensitive. I don't know if You have been getting better responses ( and if so please share) but I haven't. Calling and emails don't work, and we are all on the same boat so unless you have something productive to say please stop commenting. You're negativity isn't welcomed.
