  1. I wrote a hand written card for the people who wrote my letters for CRNA school and let me shadowed them and such! I also did a 10 dollar Starbucks gift card too! :) I got that from a girl I precepted and it does mean a lot! :)
  2. of course! feel free to PM me too! I would love to help with what ever I can! I know how it feels to be in yalls position.
  3. agreed! I know Miami doesn't have the GRE, however, I had like a 299 GRE score and I was invited to interview at all the schools I applied to except one. I used the Kaplan study method and it had videos and also an in person lesson plan. I really liked it, but I heard awesome things about Magoosh and I may have tried that if I had to take it a second time. Good luck!!!! With a little practice im sure the GRE would be doable, it was for me! your other stats are great
  4. What USF does is they look at your application and then invite you for an interview, and when you get there, they have you talk about yourself and things of that nature! They told me something along the lines of, we invited you for an interview and didn't look at your app again and we want to hear from you how you are and things like that! Interview at this school is KEY! so really shine for an interview!!! be confident, and ask questions, and make it known that you are ready for the challenge. we have orientation next week and I am SO EXICTED! Ill tune yall in later in the semester and let yall know how hard it is hahaha. best of luck during the app process!
  5. hey there!!! I had my letters from my charge nurse (counted as a supervisor), an old nursing school professor who taught my critical care class for nursing school( that was my academic one), and a CRNA that I shadowed in the OR for 36 hours!!! :) hope that helps!!! I am not sure how strict they are on the letters, I would call and see! But those were mine! :)
  6. Hey all!!! I decided to decline my interview at FGCU. I have been accepted elsewhere and that is where my heart is!!! Good luck to all and I hope everyones CRNA journey is successful!!! :))) Keep in touch!
  7. same! literally just got one!
  8. I had a nurse yell at me once in clinical about something stupid, the PCA was late and she didn't have a blood sugar and I too was just "standing there" or something. who knows. Nurses who have crap days will act like that, its not you at all. Don't worry about it or think too much, shake it off. I always love to think about how sucky these nurses probably were when they first started. Trust me, things can get hectic, but when I precept, I never forgot where I started. some people seem to forget that, oh well!!!
  9. now that I think about it I think my GRE was 299? anyways lol, yeaaa... the GRE was not my strong point at all but I got in so im so happy to never take that again lol
  10. I dreaded taking the GRE, that was painful. I also hated asking people for LOR like people said cause its just annoying and waiting for them to put it into the system is nerve racking because of deadlines and such. Same with me, I didn't ask my management because I don't trust them. However, charge nurses count for the "supervisor" position and IMO they know you and your skills WAY better than your manager does! :) Also, waiting for apps to be in and waiting for interview invites and acceptances is absolute TORTURE! longest 3 weeks of my life after an interview waiting for that call lol
  11. My stats were: 3.55 cum GPA 3.41 nursing. 297 on the GRE ( I forget the math and verbal) 4 on writing I think lol 3 years MICU experience in a level one trauma facility CCRN, TNCC. ACLS, BLS, PALS. let me know any more questions I can help you with!
  12. hey all!!! I am accepted to the last MSN program for USF and we start August 2018! I think that person was talking about the august 2018 admission. Let me know if yall have any questions!
  13. ill join the choir too, nothing lol
  14. ah ok RN man! that makes sense :) just wanted to clarify!!!
  15. Congrats RN man! I was accepted to USF and declined to interview at UM because I was already accepted to USF. I am sorry to hear that you did not get a good vibe from USF about helping people. We have older classmates already on our fb page who have been a ton of help and a great resource and have nothing but excellent things to say about the faculty at USF when it comes to helping facilitate their learning. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone who is interested in USF CRNA as well :) Good luck at UM!!! I wish you nothing but the best! :)
