FGCU CRNA 2019

Hi! I know I am early but anyone looking to apply for FGCU starting Jan 2019? Apps are due May 15, 2018! Anyone know the stats of people who have gotten in and interview tips? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there! I am also looking to apply to the 2019 start. I don't have specific stats but I know that they specifically look at quantitative GRE scores > verbal, science GPA > General, and quality and type of experience rather than a generic amount of years. Everything I have ever heard about the interview process, is to remain yourself! Sounds cliche but true, they are gaging whether or not you have the characteristics of a potential CRNA which cannot really be measured by a black and white mold. They need to see the understanding of and commitment to the profession. Leadership abilities and of course evidence of going the extra mile as well as clinical knowledge is important, of course. But I get the sense that they are looking for that certain ‘spark' so to speak. Not sure if that's helpful, but I'm trying to tell myself that this is within reach!

Any updates on submitting your app?

nope! nothing as of yet

Hi WalkerRN! I couldn't help but notice your other posts in hopes of finding similar threads that may provide insight and I saw that you were accepted into CRNA school! That is SO awesome! Care to share any stats and/or info about the school you will be going to?

I am working on my first app and am feeling the nerves already!

hey hey! yes! I have been accepted to another school in florida and I am so excited! I applied to all my schools at once so I have a pending app at FGCU, we will see what happens! I probably wont interview here because my heart is already set on my school I got into! :) hehe

I had a 299 GRE, 151 math, and I forget the rest lol. I had a 3.55 GPA and CCRN, TNCC and that sort of thing. very basic but it got me an interview! YAY! PM me if you need anything! :) here to help!

Aww, yay! I'm truly excited for you! Funny, I also got a 299 on the GRE, but 150 math. Currently taking orgo 1 and still working on the CCRN í ½í¸ so a bit behind in that regard for FGCU's deadline. I don't know my official GPA in nursingCAS but I believe it's around a 3.4 something. Also, will have a little over 1.5 years SICU at time of start for FGCU and about 2 years for all the others.

I don't think I have PM privileges yet on here lol but thanks for the info!

sounds like you have almost the exact same app stats as me! haha, yes! get the CCRN, I also re took a chem class, was signed up to retake an anatomy class and got into CRNA school so I quit it lol. I am excited for everyone on their CRNA journey!!!

Ha, how awesome was that! I am debating on retaking A&P 2 as well, that or grad class to supplement for the lower GPA. Guess it will depend on how my first app goes.

May I ask what you used to study for the CCRN? I have read many posts on here and it seems the PASS! CCRN question bank has been consistently mentioned (which I got) as well as the Laura G series but honestly wasn't planning on investing in those unless absolutely necessary. Looking for a resource with concise, relevant content for somewhat limited time to study.

funny you say that too! I watched laura G videos, luckily, someone on my unit had the DVDs and I borrowed them, honestly, it would have been so worth it if I had to buy it for sure! I didn't do her questions tho, I did use the pass CCRN. I went thru her videos by system, did the pass CCRN questions by systems and then two weeks before my exam I did a mixed practice tests and passed the CCRN with flying colors, study tho for sure, but the laura G videos were an awesome resource
