Feeling hopeless about future after only 6 weeks into Nursing school

Published

Hey guys, I just started Nursing school about 6 weeks ago and my dream is to be a CRNA one day. I came from a community college where I did my pre-reqs (4.0 GPA) and now six weeks into the program and I'm hovering around a B+ GPA. I feel like I work so hard for these exams but end up doing really bad and this is concerning me for my future because if my GPA stays as it is, I will never get into a CRNA program. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Just keep trying your best is all I would recommend. B+ don't seem so bad. . But of course your Asian so it is equivalent to a D+ LOL! Don't be so hard on yourself cause you will only stress yourself out more which is unhealthy!! Acceptance into CRNA is. Not only determined by GPA but also a good GRE score. . Work experience. . Personal statement and a interview that will blow the committee away. . . Focus on your studies now and keep that passion for CRNA alive because with passion and determination anything is possible. . Your still on the first few steps of the journey. . Relax :)

Just focus on one step at a time and use all the resources you find on the internet and most of all never give up!!!

What's with that sort of comment xxdumaxx??

Lol welcome to nursing.

I know a lot of CRNA students with 3.3-3.4ish GPAs. Don't be obsessive. Nursing still doesn't know how to grade "critical thinking" objectively so they just give everyone bad grades and move on. It is what it is. Do as best you can, and like Sherriblu said, don't give up! You've got a long road ahead.

What comment?

Probably the stereotype comment made that some may fin offensive or racist.

LoL I'm Asian as well and I feel the SAME way when I receive a B!! So if anything I can totally relate with the original thread author! I'm slowly learning as well to not be so hard on myself.

Grades aren't everything. I got into CRNA school with a 3.2 GPA.

I got in with a 3.18. Stop stressing.

I was just recently accepted and there was a heavy emphasis on my pre-reqs. My nursing courses didn't seem to matter very much so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Just do the best you can. The admissions committee focused on my science grades which included a&p 1 and 2, biology, chem, micro, and pathophys 1 and 2. I had to calculate a separate Gpa for those courses. It sounds like you'll be just fine. Try practice questions for your nursing courses. That's what helped me.

Thank You so much. As you can see, I am so caught up with school that I haven't had the time to come back here and read. :/
