Nursing Students Excelsior

VOMIT!!!!!!

I just registered for my first nursing exam. Transition to the professional RN. Did the practice exams. Got a 52% on A and a 72% on B.

Just guess the fear of the unknown.

Registered today but when I checked excelsior not says I cannot schedule my exam until 5/5 at the earliest. Don't know what is up with that.

Not really asking of looking for any validation, just need to express some built up nervousness.

I post it here since others can probably relate to what I am feeling/experiencing.

Specializes in EMT since 92, Paramedic since 97, RN and PHRN 2021.

I did use both practice tests A and B. I did see any questions that were taken verbatim from the practice exam. I had no drip rate calculations although I had a few drug calculations.

Scheduled Foundations for this coming Tuesday. Just trucking away. Trying to average one a week since I have been out of work with a stress fracture in my foot.

Let us know how you do with Foundations. That's my next one too. Good luck. You got this.

Congrats on passing multiple tests so soon! What are you using to study besides practice tests?

I keep the content guide open next to me while I use SG101. I had also bought Lisa Arends CDs a few years ago but do not try on them, too many spelling and grammatical errors. I would say that SG101 has been my main resource. The way they have their guides laid out along with their practice tests, it just makes sense to me. Besides the fact that the excelsior practice tests are excellent to use for studying also. They have the rationales for every answer listed under the question, huge plus in my book.

From the time my wife leaves for work I am at my computer reading and studying. This is the only way I have been able to pass so quickly. Otherwise I would probably be spending a month on each test just for the amount of time needed to learn the material.

Awesome, I have sg 101 as well. Only have a&p left before starting the nursing exams. Congrats again, you're a huge motivation. Keep up the good work

Thanks a lot. I started this journey in September of 15. I had a lot of pre-reqs to do. I did A&P1 and 2, microbiology, bioethics, humanities, English, math, lifespan dev. Psych and my free electives. I did all of them via online classes. I have only just recently started the tests with health safety and transitions.

It's a lot of work but anything worth having is worth putting the work in for.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Go Bill go!! :)

Great work. I have no doubt you will rock out on Foundations.

I have Health Safety and Health Differences tomorrow. Working 3rd shift tonight so tomorrow is gonna be an adventure. Not looking forward to 0900 and a 1200 test times. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the encouragement. You'll be fine on those two tests, drink lots of coffee if you are up all night with jobs.

Let me know how Heath differences is? That will be my last one of phase 1, when I'm done with foundations.

Great job. How was it? What resources did you use to study? It's my next one after Info Lit.
