how is your studying going? what are you using?

i am following suzanne's plan and have been diligent thus far. :D btw, i work full-time as a new grad and am attending a rn-bsn program. i have no life but it will be worth it to pass the nclex!

where can you get the result of exam? usually after 2days?

I take it tomorrow at 1pm!

This is a second career for both me and my sweetie of 16 years, he's taking it tommorrow as well. I feel woefully under prepared but I came from a good program and I seem to do the delegation and prioritization questions well enough. Have done all the Kaplan with an average 60% Question trainer #7 with a 62. This being said, I'm not attached to the outcome....if I pass, then I pass, if not I'll take it again in a month. I have a few health issues like I'm in menopause and the hot flashes are terrible. Consequently, I've watched my grades take a tumble and I'm now having a hard time remembering things that I knew cold. The stress of this test is unhelpful. So I'm just trying to relaaaaax and think about Hawaii and cool drinks and sandy beaches.....Think good thoughts for us around 1pm California time. Much thanks!

You got it in the bag! Good Luck today, my prayers go out for you. Be blessed.

Ive heard for RN you can look online like 2 days later. But for us LVNS in CALI we have to wait 2-6 Weeks!!! :angryfire

Okay so I just finished my test this morning. I had 75 questions and somehow knew I would be cut off at 75. I felt very defeated. My nursing program used the ATI materials and tests. I got a 97% predicability on my ATI comp exam that I would pass the NCLEX the first time. I really feel or know that I failed. I got out to my car afterwards and just started crying uncontrollably. Maybe I am cutting myself way too short but I just don't think so. I want to know or more importantly need to know that I am not alone in the way I feel. This test had a lot of pharm questions that blew me away. I was like "what is this drug and how am I supposed to pick an answer when I have absolutely no idea?" Really I felt like it was a test for pharmacists. I have been studying hardcore for this test a little over a week and maybe that was my problem. I would put in 3-5 hours a day just doing practice questions. I probably should have spent more time instead of just a little over a week. I haven't used Kaplan but instead have been using my ATI books and this website, which I thought was pretty good: http://198.146.4.5/nclexrn3500/question.do;jsessionid=B4CB1D014104CE217E6A5A6FD4B87082

Anyways good luck to all of you who are studying hard. I don't know anything yet so I am not going to continue to short myself, just know the areas that you are weak in. I had a lot of pharmacology questions as well as prioritization questions like who would the nurse assess first. Also I had a lot of delegation questions. This content doesn't seem like it should be hard but for whatever reason today I was floored. No idea. By the way I didn't have any dosage calc questions and I have been hearing the same from others. I hope this helps. I don't want to scare anyone but if you come out of the test feeling blue just don't give up. I am in the waiting boat and should I find out that I didn't pass I'm not going to give up. Again good luck!!!!

My test was set up the same way..with the same type questions. I had no idea about what the meds were they were asking about, and tons of delagation and prioritizing questions. And NO math. A few SATA and disease processes. I also came out and cried. I knew i didnt pass. I came home and looked up the information that i could remember being questioned on, and pretty much missed all of them..so by then i KNEW i failed it. I cut off at 75 too...

But this morning, i get on the website, and guess what...I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Okay so this seems to be the trend then? I know the directions before you go into the test say not to base the number of questions you have off whether or not you passed, but I just can't help doing otherwise. Everyone for the most part who got cut off at 75 have passed to my knowledge. I will be more than shocked to be honest if I did because I really felt like I blew it in there. I will find out tomorrow whether or not I passed though, so I will definitely let you know. Thanks for your response...gives me that much more hope :).

Good Luck All~~~

Ok I just found out something cool on another thread here, I hope it works!!!!

For CALIFORNIA LVN nurses, I heard that theres a pearsonvue trick to get your results, that if you go on there website after you take your test and log in and try to register and pay the 200 bucks for your test again and get all the way to where it asks you what school you went to and push NEXT- that it will stop you and say please contact your board of nursing- if you passed.

Here's why I kinda belive this:

I failed my boards on December 16th, and I went back on pearsonvue and paid the $200 the same day I got my letter in the mail that I had failed- January 9th. That same day also I sent back my registration papers to the board in the mail and I didn't get my ATT to test until January 27th. SOOOO what I am saying is that pearsonvue allowed me to reschedule and pay for my exam becase I did fail, before I even sent my paperwork back to the board again or got my ATT to test. Well I took my NCLEXPN in cali again on February 4, 2009 and I cut off at 85 Q's, I studied everyday non stop. I just tried the "Trick" and it let me get to the school thing like cookiemonster said and then I pushed next and it told me to Contact my Board of Nursing.

Ok sooo this time is the same as last time in a sense- I don't have an ATT to retest yet, but the difference is- this time it didn't let me go to PAY the 200 bucks like it did last time.

I'm thinking this trick works, I'll let you know when I get my results :icon_roll

Wrong

Ca do not participate in quick results also Ca LVN is different and you get your results before you pay for your license

How am I wrong?

I know CA doesn't participate in quick results, that why I was intrested in that "trick"

and I know that in you have to pay for your license after you get your results- I didn't even mention anything about that.

Good luck for those who will take their NCLEX this coming february. I took mine last Friday and i passed.

Congratulations, what did you study with? Any study tips?
