This is a good topic - I vaguely remembering doing some kind of homework or project on it ...

There is a lot of literature out there regarding safety of BCAMA. There also different systems (omnicell, pyxis and something else).

i used the pyxis but not the barcoding system.

"Can anyone please give me?"

Therein lies the problem.

SeriouslY, OP? You are asking strangers to do your homework for you?

We have been there. Done that. Including homework. Why would we want to do yours?

And why would you trust us to do yours?

i used the pyxis but not the barcoding system.

Have any of your classmates had clinical placements where they used used the barcoding system?

@nelshyn, you're on the right track with your topic, if you have doubt turn it into focus. Keep in mind that the point of the assignment is to show that you understand the steps involved in nursing research.

Best starting place go to your library. You should have access to online databases such as cinahl. Start with a literature search about medication safety and bar code scanning and see what you come up with.

If you arent that familiar with online databases, ask your librarians to help you out

Word of advice - just keep your topic focused. It can be very easy to get sidetracked when there's such a humongous amount of info out there. Otherwise you'll just be running circles and your paper will be all over the place..

See what you did there? It looks like you have a topic.

I suggest working backwards- spend a couple hours browsing through a database like Medline etc to:

1. Find a topic that interests you. It is much easier to write about something you find interesting

2. Find a topic that has enough quality research references to satisfy your class requirements.

Database research can bring you to so many areas that you ever even knew about. When I started it was physical periodicals and reference books- ugh. Now its just keyword searches.

Find something you feel passionate about. It is always easier to write when you are personally engaged in your topic.
