Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
Where did you find out this information? I'm in NO way doubting you :) ... but I was looking back and last summer's wasn't until April 23rd. I'm trying not to freak out!! There's no way I will miss orientation, it will just suck to pay for flight changes and have my poor husband fly with the kids alone, 2 corificeats, etc... Ooohhh... maybe paying for the flight change will be worth NOT having to fly with my kids!! :)
That I'm not sure as to when you guys will get a letter! But yes you have to have all your titers, shots, background check and fingerprinting done by orientation! Prepare for chaos when u guys get your letters! Word of advice get titers drawn as soon as u get the letter! Takes about a week to get results!
Summer classes always start in May! There is no break between spring term and summer term. You need hep b, mmr, and one other tither. You need a flu shot, tb ( cant get it until the specified date), tetorifice shot, and a physical ( which also cant be done until after the specified date) if you dont have any insurance Northside Medical Center where we go take our drug tests gives FCCJ students huge discounts for other services! I got everything done at that clinic! Remember the tb test and physical exam cannot be done until after the specified date!

This should be the most exciting thing in the world to hear orientation could be 3/31, thus we'll probably be hearing something very soon, BUT I have a vacation scheduled and we're flying to California on 3/31!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!! Is orientation mandatory? My flights were so expensive and changing them will be awful. My husband would not be thrilled to fly cross country by himself with our two young children. Oh boy... why isn't anything ever simple?? I just didn't imagine orientation would be that early, especially with Easter weekend that weekend, etc... but then I guess spring break is that following week, so maybe they need to get it over with?
(I say all of this like I'm accepted to the program... all of this is obviously a BIG "IF"!)
