Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
This week would be the 5th week right?
I know FutureRN mom said the envelopes would be in those manilla packets, but I got my hopes up yesterday when I saw a big white envelope and got my hopes crushed when it saw it wasnt for me.
An Oriention on the 31st would give us about 5-6 weeks before classes start.
Any rush to get school supplies?
Hi,
Mine came in a white packet last term. Looking back, we were notified on a Thursday. This Thursday would be the equivalent. The packet and email (both contain identical info)have everything you need to order uniforms(websites, locations and lists)and where and when you need to do background checks, screenings, titer info.... It will answer most of your questions.... it is a lot of information.
Good Luck
Liljon you can wait on uniforms you don't need them until the 8th week of school! You will need stethoscope, skills kit and bp cuff by the 2nd week of school because thats when we start learning skills, so the only thing you can really wait to get is the uniforms! Hopefully you guys will hear soon especially if they keep the 31st as the day of orientation! The letters will be in manilla folders!!! :)

Have you seen these manilla folders you speak of....recently (like today)??? LOL
Can you tell we're getting anxious???? Thanks for all your tips!
I didnt go by the nursing office today, but I will take a peak tomorrow after class! The latest should be next week since that will be your 6 weeks! The two books needed are Dosage Calculations A Ratio-Proportion Approach Second Addition by Gloria D. Pikar and the other book would be Exploring Medical Language A Student-Directed Approach 7th edition by Myrna LaFleur Brooks! You guys can join the nursing tutor community on blackboard under North Campus communties there is a tab that says community you click on that, then go to North Campus then stroll down until you see Nursing Tutor and click enroll, this is where all of the self studies are and ppts on the dosage calc and med term along w/ practice pgs! Good luck everyone!
