i'm posting this because i'd like to have one whole thread dedicated to this. i've seen people mention in several threads what past cut off points have been, so in this one i'd like to have the stats for the past cut off points, starting with this past summer.
if you have the info, please post it!
cut off points for:
summer 07 term
spring 07
fall 06
summer 06
spring 06
thanks :)
serendipityi actually have 185.8 not that it will make any difference but i seen what i put and was like wait i have .8 not .5!~ i know so silly! it is not going to matter in the bigger picture of things i am sure.. i am trying to get in for summer. :) i did not think the nat was hard at all it is timed and that was the biggest problem i had! i took it twice and the first time i was so dumb i did not look at the book because i talked to others who told me that i did not need to. the second time around i knew what to expect so it was a little better for me. the biggest advice i can give you that really helped me alot is if you do not know one of the questions write the number down on the extra paper you are given and move on!~ and if you are running out of time go back and guess or if you don't know it when you come to it and you know you are not going to know it guess. i had a friend also suggest that if i ran out of time towards the end guess all c's instead of guessing all different letters. i am not sure if it helped i unlike my really really good friend ran out of time both times i took it on the first section. take a deep breath and go in there with confidence and understand that you have come this far and you can and will do well! i will be thinking about you! good luck!~
first of all, thank you so much for the advice. especially about just guessing if you don't know, that helped on the reading comprehension part a lot. to me, that was the section that was the most pressed for time. i was in the 99th percentile for academic aptitude, 96th for reading comprehension, and 91st for natural sciences!!!!! my raw score is 176 so by my calculations i will have around 112 points on my application from the nat. i am sooo relieved!!! i was only thinking i would have around 90 points from it, and then i would kind of be cutting it close... but now i should have at least 190 total which is my personal cut-off lol. any less and i will retake a class during the semester i am applying in case i don't get in. i will most likely surpass 190, but you never know. just having it over with takes a load off my mind lol. okay, just wanted to say thanks and let everyone know how i did. now i gotta go study for my blood test in a&p 2 tomorrow. :chuckle such is life as a nursing/pre-nursing student...
I am applying to the nursing program at fccj next week (to start in the summer) I am taking the NAT on monday and looking for any feedback from people who have already taken the test. I have been studying alot from the Arco Allied Health Occupation Entrance Exam book.
I already have 107 points for my pre reqs but I am concerned about this test. The sample questions in the book- especially for the science portion are pretty in depth. Please give any info you can!! =]
I wouldn't worry about it.
I went to take the NAT at the Kent campus. The gent behind the desk asked me if I studied the ARCO book and I told him no. He looked at me like I was insane! He cautioned me about the 'difficulty' of the test...blah, blah, blah. I took it anyway.
I did not finish the first section. But, doing the math.....(Academic Aptitude + Reading Comp + Sci) * 0.64 = 112! (I scored in the 98th percentile on the second 2 and 91st on the first). Add than to my pre-req score (same as YOU!) 107, my score is 219. Definitely high enough for acceptance!
Just relax and go take the test. Let us know how you do!
Wow, you did good! I got 103.something...just applied for the program with 217!
I didn't think the NAT was too awful difficult. I was stressed out about the science part, but when I took it, I felt it was mostly common sense and basic concepts. I did the worst on the reading part, mainly because I ran out of time.

Okay - so I'm applying for FCCJ Summer Term with 185.32 points. I took the NAT this morning (50 + 26 + 62 = 138 * .64 = 88.32). I have 97 points from my prereqs. I'm soooooooo worried about JUST missing the cut! I wish they would include the Chem grade! I really don't care about the day or evening program. Either would work for me. Does anyone know if you have to pick one (day or evening)? I seriously would take either one.
Oh...one last thing...I live in Nassau. I've heard that there will be 'preference' for Duval and Nassau residents. Does anyone know what that means?

I spoke to Ms James yesterday. When I mentioned that my DD would be applying when she gets discharged and that the extra 20 pts would really boost it for her....she stated that my DD needed to make sure not to misplace her DD-214.....what that implies to me is that they are still giving the extra 20 pts for those already in medical fields. (DD is a combat medic)
Also, since I am looking at getting into the evenings/weekends program, I asked her what the cutoff for that was this semester. She said 196. (Obviously, with only 24 slots, the points would be higher.) It looks like I am pretty safe with 219.
She also told me that you do not need your BLS/CPR card when you apply, just by the time you take your physical. I am scheduled for a class tomorrow and I was waiting before applying.
Just thought I would share.
