I just got back from hand-delivering my application for the night/weekend track starting in January '08, and submitted my application with 217.2 points! Woo Hoo! I feel pretty good about this!
Okay....just had to get that out.

does anyone know where clinicals are done and whether or not we can chose an instructor based on where they go for clinicals?/
Every hospital in Jax (except for St. Lukes) and surrounding area, including Orange Park, Baptist Nassau, Baptist Beaches and Baptist south. However it changes every semester. Some hospitals will be on the list, some not (Shands was not a choice for my 1st semester or 2nd semester).
NOw for how to select your instructor-welcome to the lottery (for day students). I think the night/weekend group has a dedicated clinical facility. All 96 of you will select a number, you're lined up in order of your number and whatever sites are available is what you're choice is. The good news is this-Baptist Nassau is not off the face of the earth (unless you live in Middleburg) and the Term one clinical instructor (C. Willford) is wonderful. You will receive a great clinical setting for your first time in and you'll be better prepared when you go to term two. J. Barrett and S. Burns are also good instructors as well. Those 3 are usually term one instructors and I am familiar with them and can share what I know.

I'll bet 192 points will be enough! :-)We'll know in about 6 (LONGGGG) weeks.

st. lukes was offered for one section for fall 2007, who knows if it will be up for 1st semester spring students though.

Hey guys...
I have also applied for the spring term, but w/only 290 points. I have not completed Sociology or micro (currently taking w/Davis) so that would be an extra 28 points if I had to reapply. I also have kids- ages 4, 1, and 6 wks. I applied for the daytime program. After hearing the cutoff is usually in the lower 180s I was pretty hopeful. But, now I'm seeing many people with 200+, so that's a bit discouraging for me!

Hi Kellej.
Please don't be discouraged. Keep in mind that of the 300+ applicants FCCJ gets every semester, you are bound to have some with over 200 points. The day program takes 125 students, so with 190 points, I can't imagine 125 people having more points than you. I'll bet you'll be fine!

Anybody out there... I just took the NAT and scored 99.2 points on it. I didn't study for it, so I am going to study up and retake it. I have 120 points for my grades assuming I get the A's I think I am going to get in my last few classes. If so, that is 219.2 points. Is there ANY chance I will not get in? If so, I prob. should retake the NAT because 99.2 is not very good is it?
I think we have already answered your question the first three times you have asked--in the last week. Would you prefer a different response this time? :angryfire
