I just got back from hand-delivering my application for the night/weekend track starting in January '08, and submitted my application with 217.2 points! Woo Hoo! I feel pretty good about this!
Okay....just had to get that out.
hello! are there any fccj students applying for the RN program beginning spring 2008? the deadline to apply is october 1st and im wondering what kind of points other people have. im currently enrolled in mcb2010, so i don't have the points for that, but my total prerequisite points are 90, and i just took my NAT...
academic aptitude 58
reading comprehension 31
natural science 75
total 164, multiplied by .64, is 104.9
so, if im doing this right, i have 194...
i've read on here that the cut-off is usually 180-185. is there a chance i won't get in with a 194? thoughts? opinions? feelings?
thanks for your help!

Hi np_wannabe!I'm hoping to apply to the night/weekend program, too, for Jan 2008! Have you heard what the schedule is like (like, how many nights/week classes are and what the weekend hours are?) Your points will definitely get you in! I have 194 points and still get to retake the NAT test one more time, which I'll do to increase my point values, but from my understanding, I think I have enough points, too, to get into the program. I hope it's enough for nights and weekends. When do we find out about acceptance???
hi, i have 194 too, but im still stressing out... did you retake the NAT or just apply with 194? are you confident you'll get in? if the cut off really is 183, i would like to go ahead and celebrate, but i have no idea what to expect. im going to give myself serious health problems if i have to deal with these anxiety levels until the acceptance letters are sent.
You have to remember that you're points are compared to the others you apply with. There is no set point cutoff. I found out that when I applied with 208 points, I was in the bottom percentage of my applying class. Why-several Medics and Corpsman/women from the military are in my class along with some folks who have prior degrees.

Hi hawkfdc.
Thanks for the reminder about there being no set cut-off number of points, but it's also important to keep things in perspective: according the back of the green sheet of the application packet, the MAXIMUM number of points anyone can have--with a 4.0 gpa, answering every single NAT question correctly, and getting the maximum extra points for being an FCCJ-trained EMT, paramedic, etc is 260 points. So although you were in the bottom of the percentage for your class, I think your class is probably the exception rather than the rule.
