FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!

I think 112 on the NAT is good. I did not do well on the NAT which is why I am retaking it. Good Luck this semester!! I hope we both get in to the program in August!

Thanks!!! It was higher than I ever expected it would be, but my old high school grades are just not where they should be. I wish they counted Chem... I got a B in that! Lol. I should still have a score somewhere in the 190s to 200s though, so I'm trying to be optimistic. Good luck to you as well! Hope to see you in August!!! :D

I am also aiming for straight A's as well. But I understand what you are saying. Keep up the good work. I think you are going to do well with your classes and if you decide to retake the NAT. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but do still wish the best for you. I also took college classes in high school and didn't do as good as I wanted to. And just like you, i'm going to study hard too so I can get my points up. And take the NAT test.

Good luck in your classes and on the NAT!!! Keep working hard and I'm sure you will do well. Hope to see you this Fall as well!!!

Ugh okay I know I am posting a TON on this thread haha... but I just have a little question. I heard from my advisor that in Humanities, your most recent attempt is calculated into your points. I took two Humanities courses in high school and unfortunately made Cs in both. :crying2: I did not take school seriously back then. So I am in another Humanities this semester (another Humanities, not one I have taken before) hoping to make an A so it will replace my C. But today another student told me this does not work, that they only count your first attempt unless you fail. But it isn't a course I have taken before so I don't know if she understood that. Does anyone know which is true??? Thanks in advance.

I wish I knew the answer.......I would think that your most recent Humanities would count because you have to take 2 Humanities for your AA degree anyway. I would ask another advisor just to make sure

You took the Humanities in highschool? were they AP classes for college credit?

Actually, they were called Dual Enrollment. A teacher that was certified to teach college courses taught them at my high school, where I got both high school and college credit for them. I didn't mind getting Cs in high school, but now I'm worried they will hurt my chances of getting in.

They will use your humanities with the highest grade! Another thing if chem did count you wouldnt get that many points for it since it was highschool and it would only be worth 1 credit! Good luck to you guys!

Good luck in your classes and on the NAT!!! Keep working hard and I'm sure you will do well. Hope to see you this Fall as well!!!

:) Thanks alot for the word of encouragement. But I do have a question for you. What help you prepare yourself for the Nat ? And if you use any book to study? Just asking for your advice and others. I would be so grateful to read th and to apply them.:) Thank you.

I know some people got the book you can buy to study but I kept hearing from others that it really did them no good because the book was too detailed and they wasted alot of time.

Personally, I just went in and took the test to see what it was like. I knew I would have enough time to take it again (90 days) before I had to apply so I wasn't really worried about it. I really think that, if you have the time, taking it twice is the best strategy. It is the exact same test both times so if you can remember what parts you didn't do as well on, you can go over that before you take it again. It also helps you in figuring out the time limit thing. That will help you the second time as well.

Just my opinion...

Oh okay thank so much. Yesterday I went to the book store and you was right it was too broad so I didn't buy it at all. So I am going to take your advice and take it when I have the time in my busy schedule. Yeah to me it would have been a waste of cash looking through it. But I really appreciate your help. Very grateful.

My buddy just took the NAT and now Im scared. He didnt do to well and I gotta take mine tomorrow.

He said there wasnt much time for most of the sections.

Something like 90 questions for the academic part and only 40 minutes to finish

20 minutes for the reading and there were 40 questions on 4 long passages.

The big factor for the NAT is time. I hear the material itself wasnt hard, but how much time they give you to solve them isnt that much.

Hmmm. Oh okay...God bless:)
