I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!
'round.....190ish. I can't remember anymore! LOL:D Initially, it was higher, but a few folks declined their seats. I got 217, so I wasn't even close to the cutoff.Best thinking is.....shoot for 200 and you will be safe!
Thank you! I totally miscalculated my points. I thought I was sitting pretty with 216 then I went back and I realized that I counted my Stats class twice and I found out that I can't count my Chem. So now I am looking at applying with 195.56. I don't think I will have enough to be able to get n/wknds. That's not counting my Micro so I could always wait until Summer 2010 and apply then. I think I am going to take my NAT again as well. I got 98.56 but I think I can do better. I took it right after my A&P final so I was mentally drained! Hopefully when I take it again I can get higher points.
I'm a career changer so I would love to have n/wk so I could still work. The only hard thing will be being away from my daughter. She just turned 1 last month. I'm finishing up my BA at UNF right now so I have gotten use to going to class 2 nights a week, but the weekends would be hard.
First term is a bit overwhelming due to the amount of material to learn, but you won't spend that much weekend time doing your clinicals. In second term, Adult Health I will kick your butt. You have to go to class one night a week plus both days of the weekend for clinicals leaves you with NO days off if you work FT (M - F)! It is tough, but you can get through it....I did. I start OB on the 11th and OB has 4 clinical Saturdays out of the 8 week class, so that shouldn't be too bad.
I would retake the NAT. I got 110 pts on the NAT, so if you could improve by that much, you should be able to hook a Nights/WE slot.
Good Luck!

thank you so much for the words of encouragement. to be honest with you i was quite discouraged when i realized i messed up my points. i will definitely re-take the nat and hopefully i'll get at least a 110! i did really well on the academic aptitude part and the reading comprehension but not so well on the science portion. i got 2 nat prep books from a friend of mine who is currently in the nursing program but when i looked at the questions under the science section i didn't really recognize any from the test. the book seemed to be very specific but from what i remember from the test they were kind of general questions.
Cool i'm happy for you.:yeah:Well i'm taking A&P,CHM1025C,and MAC1105.:chair:LOL. So I don't know if I should apply for the fall program. But if you have any advice for me I am willing to take it in. And I will be more than happy to read it when you reply back. Due to the fact that I haven't taken the NAT yet.:):)
I'm also applying for Fall 2010. I should have 196-202 pts depending on my grades this Spring. (Taking A&P 2, Hum, and Psych). That is if I do not retake the NAT. I also live in Duval. I am sooo nervous. I may retake it even though I have 112 pts from it. Some of my grades are college courses that I took in high school so they are not so hot. But if I make straight As this semester I should have 202 and I think that is pretty solid but I don't know. I thought I was definitely okay with mid to upper 190s but now I am not so sure. Gonna work my bum off for straight As this semester and probably retake the NAT just in case too. Good luck to everyone!!!! I hope to see all of you there in the Fall.

Does anyone know what the cutoff for Nights/Weekends was for Summer 09 term?
