FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Yes.......I think this might be our week ladies!!!:plsebeg::plsebeg::wshgrt:

I sure do hope so!! Back to checking the mailbox every day!!

Does anyone know how long it takes for a Postal Worker to get a restraining order?

I think mine is going to file one against me very soon...

hahahahaa...thats hilarious!!

Ok, I know everyone is waiting for news on their letter but I wanted to ask if anyone had experience with the childcare center at North Campus. Thanks and we'll be talking about our letters soon.

Nope sorry no kids here (some day). But I have not heard anything BAD about the center.

You know what makes this more frustrating.... as I look around in the forums, there are people who are posting "I got my acceptance letter". I mean I am happy for them but dang it!!!! :banghead: I want my letter now too. Some of their deadlines were the same to ours with a couple of days difference.

I am going crazy!!!

My carrier will surely have to file one if he doesn't start putting my mail in the correct box. :argue:

For the last two days (not counting Sunday), I haven't received any mail. Last week my neighbor had to bring me my mail out of her mailbox! I'm not usually a violent person...but, dummy-head-mail-dude is getting on my nerves!!! :angryfire

i wonder if you need to have your uniforms at the beginning of the program. i don't think that i will have enough to afford all of this stuff. iwonder if i can get the uniforms with my reimbursement check???...(30 days after classes start)...

As far as the childcare at North campus, I have no personal experience with them, but have heard very good things about them. I would suggest you type in "FCCJ childcare" in the search window, because I remember reading posts regarding this about a year ago. I've never heard anything but good things.

I had a class last semester with a young lady who had two young children who stayed at the daycare center at Kent campus, and she loved it... she could check in between classes, etc. They are both ran by the same company, which I believe is Chappell or something like that, and I did take my daughter to one of their other centers years ago, and it was tops.

I am a bit of an old fashioned girl and not a huge fan of daycares, but did my research on them. She was taken excellent care of, and most importantly, loved going! She would usually cry when I would leave her, but when I took her there she would literally jump out of my arms to go play.

I hope this helps a little... and hey, at least you can jump into the center whenever you wanted... for me, that would be a huge comfort and benefit!

kjl221-thanks so much for your input. I'm not a huge fan either (former preschool teacher) and for the most part, we would find local friends to watch them while I am at school. But for test days, if we're only in for an hour or two, it would be a huge help. Plus, they would ride there and back with me. I've heard only good things too. If anyone else has any other insight, I'd appreciate it. thanks!

You need your uniform in the 6th or 7th week of classes. You will wear it the first time to clinical simulations and then you will wear it to clinicals. And the student nurse association holds a used uniform sale every semester.
