Hello all! Hopefully all of you out there accepted to the Fall 2009 RN program at FCCJ will join me on this thread so we can help each other out. I went today to get my pants and found some of the white ones (come in petites and tall with flared legs and slits to fit over our shoes, Cherokee brand, $13.99) at Uniform Outlet at the St Augustine outlet mall. They also carry the pocket organizers (with flat scissors and pen light included), stethoscope (inexpensive ones, so they may not be of the quality you are looking for) and all the BP cuff things we need.
I am waiting until orientation to order my polo and uniformed top so that we may be able to try them on. Does anyone know what is included in the skills kit and if they will be available at orientation?
I am getting excited and can't wait to meet everyone!
I actually went to Florida Specialty to get my polos the other day- they were about $15 a piece. I got 2 of them for the sake of convenience. I'm not sure if they are accepting credit cards- they did not have a machine at the store- they had to type all of my info in online and it took forever, so I wouldn't bet on them accepting cards. And for anyone who is wondering- they do say Florida State College on them, not FCCJ.
I sincerely recommend getting the blue Saunders book and getting the HESI book. I am not sure if it was one of the books enclosed in your box but I can get the exact titles if I need to. Those were so helpful, especially the HESI book for the HESI's. =) Enjoy orientation guys!
So I got home from orientation and am trying to register for my classes (Section 8). First it tells me there is a hold and it can't do it, to try and put them in again later. I try again later and it says the registration portlet is temporarily unavailable. I called and left a message, but is anyone else having a problem?
june ooo no they might be havin server issues because when i called up there earlier to try to change my name on the email (would you believe you are stuck with the email you registered?? forever??? ugh) Anyways the guy said that the servers were runnign slow because of finals and such...im not sure if its related :)
my issue is I have never used blackboard and i dont know my user name and password...i was waiting on hold for 30 minutes and finally gave up

I had the same issues at first but I went down to the quick links and clicked on registration. I first tried to the open class search but it came back with no results. Then I did the express registration where it has 6 boxes and allows you to enter the reference numbers. I entered all 4 numbers and submitted and then I was registered. Try it that way and see if it works.
The business office told me that Artemis had gone down. I tried to register and had the same issues. I had to have something taken care of at financial aid. I then went and registered with the express registration and had no problem.
I tried the express registration and it just goes to a screen that says temporarily unavailable still. So I guess I'll just keep trying and call tomorrow if it continues to be a problem.

I thought the same thing but if you look at it closer it says the class goes 8/31-11/02 and additional dates are 11/02-12/18. What constitutes the additional dates I'm not sure but it does say they all start 8/31.
