what's yours?
I really love my clinical whites. They are so flattering to the figure. They really make you stand out. I love that they scream, "Student Nurse!!". I also love bleaching them weekly to get out the Code Browns and other unidentified foreign substances. It gives me great pride to know that everyone in the world can see my wonderful Victoria's Secret bras and panties and also the tattoo on my shoulder....
I like patterns for my tops, it makes it easier to camouflage the stains from my lunch (which is usually wolfed down on the run). I wear dark solids on the bottom, though....NEVER white, since they are less than flattering to my plus-size figure, and whites remind me of nursing school anyway. EEWWWW.
I do pediatric clinic nursing. I'm allowed to wear street clothes but prefer my scrubs and wear them everyday. My favorites are cartoon prints, especially Mickey and Minnie. Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Tweety, Scooby Doo, and Pooh, Tigger and Piglet too all go to work with me everyday and bring smiles to the faces of all "my" kids. I always know what's going on when I feel little fingers poking me in the back and I hear laughing. I like to color coordinate the tops with my scrub pants so they always match. I buy them at the same time so I can match the color exactly. I have a pale yellow pair that I is my favorite color pant. Just bought a pair of black pants to match Mickeys ears and they will probably become my favorite pair soon.
I also like my beach scenes and nature print scrubs. I'm ready to find some holiday prints now. I never pay full price for scrubs and find them in outlet stores and clearence racks. I'll occasionally find a good one in a thrift store for a couple of bucks. It's fun shopping for them in stores that have large selections. Color everywhere! :)
I am just a student, so I get to wear a bright blue (not sure specifically name of blue) set of scrubs to clinical. I love the drawstring because they tend to sit lower on my hips whereas the elastic emphasizes my hips. It is funny that before I went into nursing school, I thought scrubs were hideous, now I can't wait to wear them. Although I do have some complaints. They should come out with bootcut or flared legs for the bottoms. I love bootcut especially. I have no c/o the tops, just don't care for tapered legs or shapeless legs like my drawstring.
We are supposed to be required to wear navy blue (but some do and some don't). I think we all have at least one set of navy scrubs, but most of us have other colors too.
My favorites jackets are my American flag jacket and my jacket with moons and stars (both match navy blue and add some color).
My favorite scrub pants are the drawstring ones from Wal-mart. They fit perfectly, not too tight in the butt like my Landau drawstrings. I have two pairs, purple and ceil blue, with colorful tops to match (not from Wal-mart, though, I don't like their scrub tops).
My favorite scrub set is a snap front top with drawstring pants from Crest in seafoam green. It looks good with my reddish brown hair and flatters my complexion.
In summer I like to wear the short sleeve snap front tops open with a t-shirt underneath (like a jacket). In winter I usually wear long sleeve shirts instead of t-shirts, or a regular jacket.
I have way too many scrub sets but I just love buying cute ones! Also, I have to do less laundry that way. :) Or at least, less often.
