Hello. Just checking if anyone else is submitting their application for FAU's FNP program for fall 2015? I'm curious how many applicants they generally receive each cycle and how many they accept.

I called again this week, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER TOS), and she said they still haven't gone through all the applicants on CAS due to delays on CAS's part. She said they're interviewing and still processing applications and same as 2 weeks ago, if I haven't heard anything, call again in 2 week.

Just thought that maybe you're SO strong of an applicant, they're not even going to interview you. Maybe they'll contact you in a few weeks with an acceptance! Food for thought!

I applied. Got an interview & just waiting to hear something.
My interview was laid back. 10 minutes tops. They told me interviews are still being held. April 7 is the last day. I would say wait 2 weeks after that day to hear anything. They did say if we have any questions contact Dr.Palma. I also heard enrollment is low which is strange FAU's program is normally very competitive. I graduated with my BSN, so im very familiar with FAU.
My interview was ten minutes, too. I didn't hear that enrollment was low, but they did say they didn't have enough space for the MSN students and the BSN-DNP students, so they need to reject people just to make sure all the BSN-DNP students have spots. How did you feel after your interview? I didn't feel too good about it, but I'm still hopeful!
Who said they didn't have enough space ? Just curious, because I heard the enrollment is low. I felt good but then again you never know. They liked the fact that I was bilingual & even though I only worked in pediatrics & don't have adult experience they said I would need pediatric experience for the FNP route. They also liked that I wanted to work with the poor. So we can keep each other posted if you like.
Oh & they also gave me the schedule for the fall. It looks like they took a class away & added a second pharmacology class
I'm a non- degree seeking student. FAU allows you take up to 3 classes before starting the program. I took advanced patho & right now I'm taking theory. Very manageable. I work 3 (12) hour shifts.
During my interview, they said that they just simply do not have enough spots in the classes to admit everyone. And the DNP students get first admit because they need to take pharm/patho etc., with the MSN kids. I also got the schedule, too. They didn't really ask me anything, just where I see myself in 5 years. Anyway- we shall see!!!! They said that we should hear around April 14th. I really want to go to FAU, I loved the campus and felt really comfortable there. Good luck!! Keep us posted! How much experience do you have??
Oh ok. I've been a peds nurse for 8 years. I live close to the Davie campus but I use to live in Boca many years ago... Lol. When I graduated high school I lefted home ( Miami) & stayed in the dorm. I had a great college experience. Wish I was 18 again.. Lol. I'm 32 & have a 2 year daughter
