Hello. Just checking if anyone else is submitting their application for FAU's FNP program for fall 2015? I'm curious how many applicants they generally receive each cycle and how many they accept.

Hey! I applied, too, and am wondering the same things. I'm pretty internet savvy and can find anything I am looking for, but I can't seem to locate any of those numbers. Good luck to you! Are you in state?

Yes, I'm in state. Are you? Good luck to you too!

Oh duh, I now see that youre in FL with 6 years experience in the ICU. That's incredible, you're definitely ready for this FNP program. I have about 2 1/2 years under my belt, but will have a solid 3 by the time the FNP program begins, and I want to work per diem throughout school. Really hoping my vision pans out, I'm putting a lot of eggs in this basket, even looking at apartments in the area. When do you think we will hear from them?? ☺️ I hope more people join this thread so that we have a camaderie!

I had to re-enter my coursework on my application last week. CAS instructed me to only list my pre-req, but FAU e-mailed and said they need last 60 hours. No word since then. Working per diem during a program is a great plan, I'm going to do the same thing. Have you heard anything yet either?

Hey! Haven't heard anything yet! I had to re-enter everything last week also because I had originally put my coursework in incorrectly! It made me so anxious. But I saw that they moved their deadline back to March 8, so we are in the clear. I'm a bit nervous- this is my first choice and I'll be so sad if they reject me. I have a weak back, already had surgery!, so right now would be the perfect time to be a student again. Let me know when you hear from them!! And good luck! I'm still unable to find how many applicants they get and how many they accept. You??

I cant believe only you and I ever joined this forum. The other school I applied to has like 44 responses and everyone keeps talking about their acceptances! Anyway-- was wondering was your status is? Have you heard from them? I have an interview next week and I just did the background check. I wish there were more people on this forum because I feel kinda alone/blindfolded when it comes to FAU. I see our forum has gotten like over 600 views though. Weird, right?

I called them over a week ago to check in and they said they hadn't even looked at my application yet, they were doing interviews and still reviewing applications. She said if I didn't hear anything in 2 weeks to call them back to check in. The weird thing is they did a spot on one of the local news stations saying how little applicants they had. Not very hopeful since they haven't even offered an interview for me yet.

Good luck on your interview!

Also, on the nursing CAS application has your application been verified? Mine only has checks under arrived.

Wow that's incredible, I had no idea so few people applied! They should accept everyone just so they have a class to teach!! One of my coworkers is brilliant and wonderful-- she wanted to apply but couldn't make the deadline, I wonder if they would consider her now that they have so little applicants. Guess it can't hurt to ask at the interview. Thank you for your well wishes, I am nervous but excited. And yes all of my NursingCas stuff was verified. Definitely call NursingCas and ask about that!!!! Probably wouldn't hurt to email Karen Kasmer either; she's the program coordinator. In any case, I sincerely hope you get offered an interview and accepted! Anyone who goes on allnurses and writes on a forum deserves to be accepted because we are obviously committed! Good luck! Keep me posted!!! I'm going to go google this "low application rate" you speak of!!

Only thing I could find was that they are trying to recruit students to the Treasure Coast campus, but I can't find anything else suggesting low applicant rate. The other school I applied to is a BIG name known all over the country, so it's just so funny to see the difference in their forums. But whatever I'm still really excited and hopeful for FAU and hope it all pans out!
