Applications are open for FAU's January 2015 enrollment date! With just over 4 months until the deadline and 8 months to the start of the program, now seemed like as good a time as any to start a forum to ask questions, relay information, and support possible future classmates.
To start off, I was wondering if any one knew if they normally offer a ABSN program that begins in the Spring. I had only heard of admittance to the Summer semester at the beginning of May.
I called them and they told me they couldn't change the classification over the phone but that the school would still be able to see it?
I would maybe call back and tell them that you know someone who was able to have them change the classification over the phone for you but that it takes a few days for it to show up. I think FAU sees your profile regardless of your classification.
But from the vague emails, does anyone know if just the background check and fingerprinting need to be done by December 3rd, or if everything on the certified profile needs to be finished by then. Im just curious on when I should have my drug test taken as well as some of my vaccines. I started some of those but I know for certain ones (Hep B I think) you have to wait a few weeks/months to take your second one. Im hoping they just want to know that you've started the process.
Has anybody gotten the results of the fingerprint yet? On Cert Profile the last tab under fingerprints is Eligible for Placement. Anyone gotten the green on this yet??
@mim10 I am under the impression that everything needs to be filled out by dec 3rd and submitted besides the notarized oath since that is a year from our background check. There is a woman at FAU who deals with questions about the background check so I would contact her. I am assuming fingerprinting and drug testing should definitely be done by then. Vaccines they may be more lenient on if it takes time, I would check your doctors records to make sure you havnt already had them done.

I think it takes two days for labcorp to send it to FAU. So if you did it Wednesday they probably got it Friday and it takes time to process, I wouldn't worry about it I'm sure it will be up soon
has anyone been able to do the SIP checklist, when I try to take the course it tells me license number must be imputed, I called about this but I haven't gotten a response yet. Also, my fingerprints are still not ready and I did it last week. Also, how do we verify the health insurance if the name doesn't match on the card?
Also, I spoke to someone at FAU and they said the orientation is Jan 8th and classes start Jan 5th (not sure the time or anything else, but she said we are expected to be on campus Jan 5th)
I just put no license and It worked for me! I'm not sure about the insurance I was going to call mine tomorrow and see if they could send me some type of verification.

How did everyone complete their immunizations? Did you go to your doctor and get a bunch of forms from them to upload into the system?
